Running Backs?

Here is a fact in the FOUR games vs 1A teams our Running backs have

45 carries for 84 yds.

It says a lot that we could have won all four of them and are 2-2 in them.

It will be interesting to see how this team performs when suspensions are lifted

I agree.  These suspensions have had a dramatic effect this year, and we would be looking at a different landscape without them.

Don't know if it would have made a difference, but the O-Line injuries have been under played here.

RG is the only position that has a healthy starter.

Ponton is big and fast, BULLieve he will really help our Running game!

What about Dorsey. Correct if I'm wrong, but isn't he on scholarship. USE HIM. Get him adjusted to the game while he is young. The few plays they given him the ball he done some things. Benjamin Williams has done nothing the four years he's been here. Build for the future and use Keeley

I think Leavitt said that Williams knows the plays and blocking assignments the best and that is why he is getting the most PT.  At this point I don't really think any of the available backs would be doing any better.

In the spread offense, blocking from the RB is huge.  If we routinely had a FB or TE to do the blocking, it wouldn't be such a big deal.  In our offense, the RB is the only guy that can help the O-Line on a pass if there is a blitz.  If Dorsey can't block, he could get Grothe killed back there.
