WFTS Calls Audible, Will Carry USF Opener

TAMPA - The University of South Florida's season opener against McNeese State will air on WFTS, Channel 28, after all.

Bill Carey, WFTS vice president and general manager, confirmed today that WMOR, Channel 32, will carry the ABC national telecast of the Notre Dame-Georgia Tech game on Saturday at 8 p.m., clearing the way for USF to air on WFTS.

WFTS orginally was going to carry the Notre Dame-Georgia Tech game live, but Carey switched to USF after a flood of angry calls from Bulls fans.

Good deal, both sides will be happy. As long as both games are on there shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure ABC 28 will have programing alerts for those who do tune in to ABC 28.

I think the people going to the game will go to the game. All this does is grab the casual fans attention to the program, alot of people only check the local news stations and such, USF will be easier to market on the regular ABC.
