(unless PJ is that improved which is doubtful) So grothe may have the talent that can be developed into a d1a starting QB, but it seems clear he does not have those skills right now or PJ would be sitting. (would broehm, manning, scheffer be sitting behind PJ at tyhis point, i think not)and this is painfull for me to say, i think we should continue looking for that QB of the future. Grothe may be serviceable (and that is all we need) and shine in his JR and SR years but so far i am underwhelmed.i also hope JL is trying to keep a stud hidden and i will be happily suprised if that is the case- but for now i wait...and hope! According to all the quotes by Leavitt, the QB play is greatly improved this fall. Maybe they both have improved. Let's at least see them play this year before jumping to conclusions about this year. If after 3-4 games they are stinking it up, then bash the qb's but wait to see how it pans out.

Other than Grothe our QB position is pretty weak (mostly because we havent seen anyone else). We still need to recruit the position hard and make sure we have someone there that can fill in and do a good job if Matt goes down.
