New Haven, Conn. (November 26)- The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced USF freshman

defensive end George Selvie as its Division 1-A National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in

USF's 24-19 win at West Virginia.

Selvie, a redshirt freshman defensive end from Pensacola,

recorded a team-high eight tackles (7 solo), including 3.5 tackles for losses, and recovered a fumble

which he returned for a nine-yard touchdown as USF defeated

seventh-ranked West Virginia.  Selvie led a Bulls defense that held

the high-scoring Mountaineers to just 19 points (22 under their average of

41 ppg) and 310 yards of total offense.  With the win, USF improved to 8-4,

4-3 in the Big East.

Walter Camp, "The Father of American football," first selected an

All-America team in 1889. Camp - a former Yale University athlete and

football coach - is also credited with developing play from scrimmage, set

plays, the numerical assessment of goals and tries and the restriction of

play to eleven men per side. The Walter Camp Football Foundation - a New

Haven-based all-volunteer group - was founded in 1967 to perpetuate the

ideals of Camp and to continue the tradition of selecting annually an

All-America team.  For more information on the Walter Camp Football

Holy shiirt.......and i thought Josh Julmiste looked more dominating than Selvie, who nonetheless looked GREAT.

Throw Chris Robinson in there at OLB, and that's 3 pretty good pass rushing maniacs for next year....
