USF Music dept to get a $46 million state of the a

Jeb vetoed it last year because the money was not part of the official Legislative Budget Request from the Board of Governor's.  This year, it was.  You can also thank State Senator Victor Crist -- USF Class of '83 -- for the appropriation.

It wasn't that crazy.  The BOG included it in their LBR, that helped to get it done.

YAY!!!  At least it's a start!  I know Mutt used to talk about the poor shape of the buildings in the CVPA, especially the music rooms.  rain would actually leak in through the ceilings.

Having spent many hours of rehearsal in '103', hanging out on the 'roachpills' and witnessing the pitiful practice rooms, this will be a huge boost the music program as a whole.  It will also attract, hopefully, more musicians and, as a byproduct, more potential band members.
