He was the BB coach at USF before my time, but USF BB was a joke before USF hired him.

USF had to clean house, and pay Lee Rose some money to come to USF.  Lee Rose responded by jump starting the program.

Does this sound familiar to the current situation?

Yeah but Lee didn't do it in the big east. They were struggling to get by in lesser conferences.

I posted this on another thread..........

I'd like to see what RMC can do with a full bench, but getting a high profile coach would really jump start the program big time.

Back in the early 80's we got Lee Rose and the program went from being ranked something like 370 up to the top 80 (which means you're an NIT caliber program) in one season.  Rose was always limited though by USF only being in the Sun Belt Conf.

Now, being in the Big East, a high profile coach would have no limitations.

I would like to see what RMC can do with a full bench as well. But if there are misofortunes and general **** happenings next year. He should be ran out of town. 3yrs of bad luck is bad enough, but 4yrs is all on the coach.

He was brought in to coach Cuda Patterson and Charlie Bradley.  When they were gone in 85-86 (my frosh year) Lee Rose was gone after a 14-14 season in 85-86 to be an asst in the NBA - Spurs if I remember correctly.

I remember Lee Rose.  My sister was a cheerleader on two of those teams.  Charlie Bradley was the man!!  He'd pull up from 30 and drain it.  That guy wasn't afraid to take any shot at any time.
