Are we recruiting this kid at all?  Everything I have read (and I don't have any premium services) does not mention him as being interested or about us being interested.  Seems odd for a kid in our backyard.

Yes we have looked at him, but from what I've read he's looking at South Carolina and Illinois, w/ WVU having an outside chance.

That's what I've read also.  Too bad.  He's awefully fast.

I wonder how these sites rate these players to come up with such different ratings for the same players..is it all based on opinion?

Tipp, they send out a couple scouts to combines/games and each scout grades the players based on their performance. They then put the body of work together and grade them based on a number on how they see them playing now and how much they can grow in the future.

That is why you see guys gaining or losing a star during the year. That is also why you see guys with insane stats, good combine numbers, but low ratings. Usually as a result of their game peaking, etc.

It's very similar to the way they grade athletes in all sports. i.e. - Baseball uses a very similar system and grades on an OFP a number up to 80 that grades how good they could be in the future. The highestOFP in baseball was Pedro Martinez who got a 79.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
