I said one team worth a darn (meaning UCONN). They've lost to Nebraska and Winthrop and were recently destroyed by WVU. Their RPI is very low too, they are an NIT team in my opinion.

In retrospect, the writer should probably have pulled the comment about USF. Our association with the BE had everything to do with football, nothing to do with basketball.

Yeah...we did get sucked into the premier hoops conference for one reason...YOU DON'T SPLIT YOUR TEAMS BASED ON ABILITY. Otherwise Duke & Vanderbilt would have found some comperable home for their football teams some time back.

The only thing we can do - as the past is unchangeable - is to hope (and I think 'hope' is the right word) that hoops improves considerably over the next few years. But what if it doesn't? What if it only gets marginally better?

What if we end up being the inverted-Duke of the BE? You know...top tier football, bottom feeder hoops whereas Duke is bottom feeder football, perennially tourney bound hoops? What if that is our destiny? Is that palatable?

Wooly, it works fine at schools like Auburn. They even manage to get a strong team together every few years and compete.
