We have an excellent quarterback here, and, as you know, that player needs to play well if you are going to have a chance to be successful. We are very fortunate because I got calls from Steve Walsh, Craig Erickson and Gino Torretta recommending Dan Werner. Dan had at one time been at Auburn. They raved about him, said I had to hire this guy. I brought Dan in. We talked about salary, and I said I can pay you more than that to come to Miami. He said, "Coach, you don't have to pay me." He had a job. It wasn't like he was hungry. He has brought a lot to the table. At his last job, he was the offensive coordinator at Murray (State). They had a great offensive plan there. He brings a lot to us.

Fire Rod "I'm a moron and call a draw on 3rd and 11" Smith and get someone who can make the offense click.  The defense is just fine.Dungy was fired because he couldn't put together an offense to complement that awesome defense .... I wouldn't want to see that happen with Leavitt but SOMETHING needs to be done.

Let's see some new blood come in and start our offense over from scratch. If that doesn't help, then I'll be ready to start calling for a replacement for Leavitt. The difference between you and me is that I understood why he ended up in the position and I was willing to give him a chance. His chance should be over, and the reason for him getting the position has passed. Time for a replacement.

However I doubt Smith will be fired, and I fear he will ruin Hill/Grothe.
