USF is not a mid major school imo.

You're right. Not sure you can consider any AAC team a mid major. But we may move up to that level when we enter the ACC.

The "mid major" in college hoops is pretty much equivalent to G5 in football. The complete and utter ******** the NIT started shoveling this year solidifies that ...

I always cringe when I hear USF referred to as a mid-major.

I see what you mean but now Gonzaga has become a National basketball power that has even had rumors of big 12 invitations.  Sure they are in a mid major conference but I no longer consider them a mid major at this point. USF i consider major because they will be in the ACC soon imo. I guess we can say USF is a major athletic university living in a mid major conference for the time being.
