AVERAGING 40,000 will help.

If we can get 50k+ for Miami, then averaging over 40k next season is realistic.

This may be common knowledge, but I didn't know so I looked it up. According to On3, it's Jimmy Sexton, the same guy who maneuvered Kalen DeBoer from U-Washington to ‘Bama and got Mike Norvell his huge raise at FSU. If CAG has the kind of season we all hope, start saving your pennies.

Everyone (okay most) are ready to hand him the keys to the kingdom. We beat pretty much no one of consequence last year. Can we at least just wait to see how this coming football season turns out before we're ready to anoint him? I like the direction we're headed but, then, there was really no where to go but up after the disaster that was fCJS.  I hope by the end of next year we are in the position of having to give him a raise but let's wait until it is truly time to do that.

a well reasoned suggestion

If UF runs Billy out of town next season, then I fear them coming for our guy.

Yeah I can see him as the HC at UF, I can definitely see that happening.

I think he would have to have a HUGE year for that to be a possibility. Like we would need to win the AAC and go to the playoff. Otherwise UF is not taking a USF Head coach that has been a HC for 2 years. Not happening there. He may get poached but not that big of a job without some real success here.

That being said if he makes the playoffs and gets hired away, I would take that in a heartbeat.

I would find it very odd if UF hired Golesh. He runs the  Tennessee offense that Heupel designed which Golesh was part of and Tennessee is one of the biggest rivals to Florida. It would be interesting watching two coaches who practically use a lot of the same play designs and schemes going head to head in a rivallary game. The last g5 hc coach they hired would have failed in Napier and I think they would look for a guy with a few top 25 wins with head coaching experience in power5 football. I am not saying it is impossible to happen, but I think they would go another route. Both sides of the ball at UF have been a trainwreck since Mullen's last year.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
