Norvell‘s FSU team basically gave up and didn’t show up for the Orange Bowl.

That's basically because his team was in the portal, injured or declaring for the NFL ...

That is what I kind of mean. Why are players quick to jump in the portal to leave his coaching staff? Not a good look no matter how many times FSU peeps tell us they were in protest over not making the playoffs. He is still a good coach though as we saw how well he did at Memphis before taking the FSU job. But Bama is on another level and they are replacing a legend. Maybe he gets the Bama job and then PrimeTime heads to FSU?

Mike Norvell has earned the Bama job with his work at FSU. He makes lots of sense given his strength in the region. Of course the GA loss was a really bad look, but can't beat UGA's starting 22 with third-stringers. It would have made more sense for them to simply not play the game to leave people wondering. They were probably threatened with damages or similar if FSU refused to play.

Dan Lanning also makes tons of sense, but you wonder if he wants to leave Oregon. They are one of the few schools that could match whatever Bama wishes to pay. Mario Cristobal has done poorly at Miami after leaving Oregon (and I frankly thought he was a good hire on their part).

Lane at Bama would be interesting. Based on his past history I'm sure he's got the ability to handle the pressure, but will he win the big games like Saban did? he didn't at USC and Ole Miss while prominent certainly isn't Bama.

He is going to build the program brick by brick.

Opens the door for PrimeTime to become HC at FSU. That is going to be very interesting….

Dude, they opted out because of the CFP and college football ... bad look for "college" football not Norvell

Not worried about CG going to Bama more worried about domino effect where a team that loses coach might look his way. I.E. Ole Miss, FSU, Oregon, etc.

It will be interesting to see what happens this upcoming season when the CFP will have just played the semi-finals at this time and have the Championship on 01/20/25. Unless they change the dates, some players are leaving while their team is in the playoff.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
