If we could get a home-and-home with a 1A team for 2007 at home and 2009 away, that would balance out our schedules.

with D-I teams now playing 12 games is the total wins to get into a bowl still 6?

I pulled this from an article dated April 29, 2005....couldn't find anything more recent:

While expanding the season to 12 games, the board said that it wants to preserve the idea of a winning record being necessary to be eligible for a bowl game.

However, it will have the NCAA staff and Management Council investigate whether disallowing 6-6 teams to be eligible for bowls would leave too few teams for the bowls.

6-6 will get you in for the next few years, and I doubt they change it. I'm hearing you can pencil in FAMU in 2008, may be sooner than that

They'll probably do something like they did for the last 12 game season. If a slot opens for a bowl game, a 7-5 team must be picked over a 6-6 team. But that left conferences with many bowl tie-ins lots of slots for their 6-6 teams.

A better rule would be a 6-6 team can only go to a bowl if there are no 7 win or better teams available, no matter which conference has the bowl tie-in.

Nope. UF doesn't want to travel for OOC, if they don't have to.

Ideally, we'd play 9/23 @ Kansas, 9/30 Bye, 10/7 BE Opener at home and make it Homecoming.

Hmm... that's a bit early for a Homecoming, especially all of the planning that'll go into Superbull X... hopefully it'll be later than that!

Well CJL said awhile ago that no more away and away OOC games so this could be that last time we play UF during the regular season and by the way the are recruiting this year that could be a good thing

We made this deal in 2002 things have obviously changed since then. I wouldn'tbe shocked if we buy it out.

Rumors have said they are comming to Tampa in 2009 which are false. UF is already in talks to play at Miami in 2009, which would give them 6 home games with us.
