Univ of Nevada, better known as UNR would be a great fit, and would bring a lot more fans.

Why would we root for WVA over Pitt? - Wouldn't we want WVA to lose a game before coming to Tampa?2.) Why would we root for Notre Dame over Stanford? - Wouldn't Notre Dame losing prevent them from claiming a Big East bowl bid?It seems counterproductive to root for teams that improve our chances if they lose. The flip side of that coin is is Pitt wins and we win out we become sole Big East Champs (Even if we win out and share with WVU, we still go to the Sugar Bowl). We need to root for Notre Dame so that they get an at large bid that won't cut into the Big East bowl tie-ins, because they won't count for the Big East champ if they go to a BCS game.Hope this helped

Guest
T-man: We do not want Pitt to win. Yes, it would be nice to have WVU ranked as high as possible, but a WVU win couple with one or two USF losses would be a significant problem for USF to get a decent bowl game.79: If a 9-2 Ohio State and a 9-2 Notre Dame can be considered, then, yes, I think a 9-2 Alabama team can get a BCS at large slot. It would take some effort, like a Notre Dame loss, Georgia beating LSU and FSU beating Va Tech. It's a long shot, to be sure, but still a possibility. As for Notre Dame, consider this. A Notre Dame loss would mean the Gator Bowl would take the Irish over Louisville. The Cardinals would bump Rutgers from the Insight Bowl. That would mean Rutgers and South Florida would be left for the Meineke Bowl committee.Hence, a Notre Dame win is better for USF's prospects for a Big East bowl.
