The stadium is no more than 10-15 miles from campus, there is a free shuttle, and tickets are free for students, so there is really no excuse as to not attending games unless one is just not a football fan. BullsWinBucsWin Posted November 18, 2005 Group: Member Topic Count: 46 Content Count: 2,569 Reputation: 345 Days Won: 1 Joined: 02/15/2005 Share Posted November 18, 2005 Normally I like Baynews9's coverage of local sports, but that piece was a joke.  I don't care if they were doing it in jest......we need all of the help we can get to get the "buzz" going around the area.  I don't think we are at a point where we can be comfortable w/ sarcasm.  Alot of the fringe "fans" that we need to be attracting may not be knowledgeable enough to know that they were doing it in fun.  "Buzz", especially in this area, is contagious, and the people that may be on the fence about going to the game Saturday may think that there will not be a very good atmosphere there and decide that they have better ways to spend their Saturday morning.  Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The stadium is no more than 10-15 miles from campus, there is a free shuttle, and tickets are free for students, so there is really no excuse as to not attending games unless one is just not a football fan.it may be the worst excuse, but its the truth.. most kids who attend UF and FSU didnt go into college as football fans, but came out as diehard football fans.. when you're exposed enough to it, you become a fan of it.. you may not like it, but it just is how it is.. look at miami, ucla, pittsburgh, just to name a few.. all programs with strong traditions but with stadiums over 10 mins away from campus.. the school spirit pales in comparison to schools with stadiums on campus... it is what it is Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
