  1. I agree with drewski. I think the hopepage is pretty sad looking. I came to USF as an out of state student from CT and the homepage was the first impression I got of USF. The tour was the sadest thing I ever saw and it still has never been updated. The tour that UCF has on their page blows the USF photo tour away. For a student out of state who may not be that familiar with schools in Florida, the website and virtual tour of the university is very important and USF could do alot to improve.
  2. Is Catch 47 going to pick this up again or just EPSNU?
  3. Of course they come up. They come up in many situations in life. Does that make it right though? Does that mean a university funded organization should resort to them? I don't think so. I think a college student should be able to come up with much more original and creative ways to create the home court advantage.
  4. I didn't realize personal attacks were part of home court advantage. I thought it was about the game.
  5. Faza, I know the one that Geno came over to yell at was the kid with 'nilla painted on his back. He must have provoked Geno enough to come across the court and yell at him. Edit: I'm not trying to "rat" out this specific kid, I just think they crossed the line and he's just the one I noticed Geno yelling at.
  6. Yeah sounds good. I'll have to do that. I'm usually just there with my girlfriend and my roommate so we'll have to come down.
  7. I'm the guy in the front row w/ the USF hawain shirt and horns w/ the Bullies. That kid in the uconn shirt, we gave him hell, noticed he moved over a section a few minutes later to be with his kind. We asked he said he was from Conn. and that he was a student at USF. Oh so that's you in that shirt and horns. I see you at all the games. I couldn't believe that kid wearing that UCONN jersey either. I threw my free USF t-shirt that I got at him since I figured he could use it. I used to go to UCONN before I transferred here and I'm chearing for USF. A USF student with chearing for the other team at home is ridiculous.
  8. Good question. They are representing our school and the way they act is just totally classless. It's embarrasing the image they portray of our school to visiting teams.
  9. I was sitting in the student section on the opposite side near the bullies a few rows back. I wasn't sure what they were saying so thanks for clearing that up. I definitely agree with you that they had it coming to them.
  10. The announced attendance was 5000 something; I don't remember the exact number. But very few were USF fans. The place was packed with UCONN fans. There was a student sitting in the USF student section wearing a UCONN jersey! Also Geno came over at the end of the game to the Beef Studs and called one a "f*cking a$$hole" in response to a chant they were doing. I'm not sure what they were chanting but it sure pissed Geno off.
  11. With all the talk about Jose and the UF job, no one seems to be talking about a crucial road game tonight at Providence. Right now its USF 61, Providence 53 with 7:30 remaining
  12. I also came from UCONN down here and women's basketball has always been supported well up home. It's easy to see why CJF gets so frustrated. The excuses I have read on this board for not attending WBB games are ridiculous. Why should CJF have to wait for his team to be ranked to get butts in the seats? Will people even come then? He already has a better product on the floor than CRM and people still don't come.
  13. Yeah, I agree there is no excuse for this game not being televised. Anyway, USF is up 20-17 right now 11:56 remaining in the half. Here is the gametracker... http://livestats.bigeast.collegesports.com/livestats/data/m-baskbl/493008/
  14. I'm actually a student still and I just came home for the holidays in CT and I was really looking forward to going to the game while I was up here. Especially since I used to go to UCONN. I came up for the football game last year and had no problem getting tickets through USF. I wonder why they don't do something similar for basketball.
  15. I just called the ticket office today thinking that they would have vistor seats reserved at the civic center for the USF game at UCONN but the guy told me that they only have seats available to season ticket holders and donors. I was planning on going to the game and it really stinks I might not be there to support the team. However, I was wondering if someone who is a season ticket holder that could get some tickets for me (at least two but I could use 6) that does not plan on attending the game and I could pay for the tickets so that I can bring some USF fans to cheer for the bulls.
  16. TAMPA, Fla. (December 3, 2006) – The University of South Florida accepted an invitation to meet East Carolina in the Inaugural Papajohns.com Bowl, USF Director of Athletics Doug Woolard announced today. USF (8-4) represents the BIG EAST Conference, while East Carolina (7-5) represents Conference USA. The Papajohns.com Bowl, an ESPN Regional Television owned-and-operated event, will be played Dec. 23 at Birmingham’s Legion Field and will be televised by ESPN2 at 12 noon CT. Mark Meadows, executive director of the Papajohns.com Bowl said, "We are thrilled the University of South Florida has accepted our invitation to represent the BIG EAST Conference in the inaugural Papajohns.com Bowl. We are pleased to have such a great match-up for the return of post-season football to Birmingham. I look forward to welcoming Bulls fans to the ‘Football Capital of the South.’" USF head coach Jim Leavitt added, “We’re honored to play in the first-ever Papajohns.com Bowl in Birmingham. Our entire team and all of our fans are going to embrace the opportunity, and we're honored to receive this invitation. This will be a heck of a game and we'll have to play our very best to have a shot at beating East Carolina.†“The BIG EAST is proud to be part of a new and exciting bowl game in Birmingham,†said BIG EAST Commissioner Michael Tranghese. “The Papajohns.com Bowl is getting a tremendous team in USF. The Bulls are making their second straight bowl trip and we know their fans are really excited. Coach Jim Leavitt’s teams have proven time and time again their ability to beat high-profile opponents and they will bring a great deal to the competition.†Fans who wish to purchase travel packages, luncheon and tailgate tickets may find information on the options at www.GoUSFBulls.com, but must purchase the packages by calling 1-800-GoBulls beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, December 4. Fans who wish to purchase tickets only may do so online at www.GoUSFBulls.com, beginning at 8 a.m. Monday. All tickets are $30. USF Athletics has purchased 500 tickets from its allotment for the game and will make them available to the first 500 USF students through a plan adopted by USF Student Affairs. To receive a ticket from this allotment, USF students must reserve one by presenting valid student identification at the USF Sun Dome Box Office at 9 a.m. Wednesday, December 6. Students are limited to one ticket and must it must be reserved in person, although they may purchase additional tickets alongside their own for $30 each. Once the 500 tickets are exhausted, students may still purchase seats. Student tickets will be available for pickup at the Sun Dome Box Office on December 14. “Our students have shown outstanding support for our program all season,†said Woolard. “We want them to enjoy the bowl experience with us, and we’re happy to help make that happen. I know our entire fan base is excited about traveling to Birmingham, and we look forward to painting the town Green and Gold. USF started playing football in 1997 and moved to Division I-A in 2001. The Bulls joined the BIG EAST Conference in 2005 and played in their first-ever bowl game that same season against North Carolina State in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. http://www.gousfbulls.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7700&ATCLID=702204
  17. As well as being mentioned during halftime of the game being called the "swarming bulls" referring to our D.
  18. How does UCONN have an average of 43,543? The stadium only holds 40,000 and they usually don't even have that many show up.
  19. A USF-UCF series draws big crowds. While this is exciting in the present time and would indicate wanting to continue the series, you have to look at the future. A well developed rivalry with a program like Miami would eventually draw even bigger crowds as well as garner much more media attention. Who cares about all the coverage this game receives when all the columns are in the sentinal and tribue. A miami rivalry would put media coverage on the national level and would help USF much more than the small immediate benefits we currently see with a UCF series. Go ahead and schedule games with 1-AA teams instead of UCF, but when you start a rivalry with an in-state team, start it with Miami.
  20. I called CSTV yesterday when I was having some problems viewing the games and they just told me they contacted the tech dept and to just keep trying. Hopefully everything goes smoothly come game time.
  21. USF does have a few busses that will take students to the game. I remember a few years back when I was living on campus a bunch of us were waiting for the busses until someone came out to tell us there is only a couple busses that go to the game and they have already left and there would be no more coming back for us.
  22. Went to the ticket office today. You cannot buy student tickets ahead of time. They said it is to prevent people from getting then and selling them and then getting more. The only way to get student tickets is at the gate the day of the game. Also was told that there are 2500 tickets alotted to students and when thats gone thats it.
  23. its also on sportsjuice.com http://sportsjuice.com/broadcaster2.aspx?bid=MzQ%3d-9LtPiUnctzE%3d#
