In Day 1 of Power Conference Survivor the Pac-12 beat the Big 12...

And it was always a “rule” that any expansion market had to be contiguous with its existing footprint.  Until USC and UCLA knocked on the door.

That was never really a rule.  It was thought the reason conferences would not expand to broadly was concern for traveling teams ... (it's also why USC and UCLA were both added instead of, say USC and Oregon)... with the amount of money being tossed around, every team can charter a plane... hell, they could do away with equipment trucks and fly that as well.

Yes, yes it absolutely can.

For now, there is no interest from the Big 12 to take any Pac-12 schools. When a chance presented itself Thursday for the Big 12 board of directors to discuss these developments, one high-ranking Big 12 official said, "Why?"

It's now 'anything goes' in the world of major-college sports with teams and conferences facing uncertain futures

I don’t know if the PAC can keep Oregon, Wash, Cal, and Stanford in place but if they do, they will start picking off the Big12 teams for sure. I could easily see them losing Okey State, BYU, Houston, TCU, and possibly KU (long shot).

When Oregon, Washington, and Stanford head to the Big Ten with Notre Dame... the best move is a "Big Pac" - merging of the two conferences... that would be 19 teams... need one more for balance - USF would make the most sense as a travel partner for UCF for the Olympic sports.

It was a statement the B1G made when they announced Ruturds and Marylamb joining  and not a different school from the ACC

I would be happy with that but Memphis would be in play for WVU.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
