just a heads up, I think UConn was a I-AA Indy before it made it to the BE in football, maybe UMass could make the switch, UMass currently is 6-2 with 3 games to go, and is ranked #9 in the ESPN/USA Today I-AA poll

There is no way the big east adds a 1AA school. UConn was a member of the big east in all other sports. Thats how they got in after they went 1A.

I would rather add FIU or FAU before a 1AA team.

Unfortunately, I think on paper UCF would be the logical choice here.

But I really like the idea of Toledo.  Definitely the best choice out of the MAC. A competitive sports program, urban/BE type campus, mid size tv market with much overlap of stations/signals with Detroit.
