, Bishop McLaughlin: Seeing Sharp’s name in this list is no surprise if you are a BullsInsider.com subscriber. Friday we reported that USF contacted Derrick Sharp, Emanuel’s father and former Bulls guard, to say that they would be calling on Monday

They offered monday night. The USF Rivals reporter interviewed Sharp. It's a good read.

When did they change that rule?

All I could find was that as long as they're one of the three assistant coaches on the staff you can hire the parent of a recruit. In sharp case his father is a former professional basketball player who has coaching experience  at the High School level. So, he's qualified.

I know they made a rule that if you hire a HS coach, you can't go after his players for a few years. Not sure on the parent thing.
