I don't sit in the student section with my kids for that exact reason. I grew up going to Air Force football games and I do not remember once seeing the things that my kids were forced to see in a "childrens" section on Saturday. Piss poor. The worst. I've seen USF students on the road at games. No comparison. Hideous. You should all be ashamed and embarrassed. Period. End of story. I might reconsider if the UCF winless streak is still intact though.

Guest Sprtsfn627
There were definently some drunk UCF fans AND USF fans that night, no question about it. There just seemed to be a lot more UCF fans drunk than USF fans. I would say about 50% of the UCF fans I saw were wasted. That's not to say I met some UCF fans that were top notch. It was those fans showing up drunk and ready to fight that ruined it. Some of them just need to learn respect.I will also be at the UCF game next year, but I don't blame people for not bringing kids. If I had a kid, I would hire a babysitter. That's a shame it has to be that way.

BTW, I would definitely leave my kids at home if younger. Since my son is a USF student now, he can't be stopped. And I'll probably take my daughter who will be 16 by then. As a side note, I have been to a number of UCF games over the years and always have hung out with the same boosters who are friends. They are fine people and we have the type of banter that would be expected but I have NEVER seen anything like that.Bottom line as I think about it a little more....jealousy is a very ugly thing. Say whatever you want but actions speak louder than words.

I went with my friends to Miami/UF (2003)and Miami/Clemson (last year) both times with friends of the opposing school and both times we had beer thrown on us, we were spit at, and when Miami beat UF in 2003 we were whipped by a Cane's fans towels after the game in the stands. I was originally offended by USF fans comments about UCF fans...and took it as a "holier than thou" attitude. Now I understand it is just a demonstration of youth. You guys are a young program - so don't take offense to that statement. I'm a younger fan so I can't speak about the UCF/Troy State I-AA days, but our first game in IA where we really had a lot of students from both teams was UCF at Marshall in 2002. If you could search back on the UCF rivals board that far, you'd see both sets of fans freaking out about the other. In the Big East, I don't know how much you'll have to worry about a visiting team bringing a TON of fans...I would think if you host Miami, FSU or UF (or visit those teams) you'll start to get the idea. The other reason we aren't as "shocked" over on our board, is becuase we have a lot of students tailgating at all of our home games - something that doesn't necessarily happen in Tampa at the same level (according to every USF student I spoke to). As many people have stated here, this game was great in that it felt more like a college football game than ever before....however on the other side of that you unfortunately have a mess and some public displays of intoxication. BTW - I don't think I've ever heard the words "from reports of" or "I heard that" more in one thread than the ones regarding this topic. Don't believe everything you read on the messageboards. Several of you do have first hand accounts - and the same can be said for UCF fans. I think The Sheriff has the best story to tell of anyone on here.
