In response to the USF band needing money:

One of our two schools awards scholarships for participating in Marching Band.

Hint: It's not UCF.

The USF school of music is well beyond the UCF music department, in terms of funding.

ET, 2-bits was there Saturday.

Our students have the tradition of hollering "BULL-****!" at bad calls. ;D

What did everyone think of the Pink Floyd tunes?  Better than Queen?

I didn't even hear the USF fight song played during the FAMU game. Out band still does a poor job of playing tunes that can start a crowd chant. And what's up with not playing during a play? I understand when we have the ball, but when the opposition is on offense, toot those horns.

Playing during game play is a no-no.  We got warned about it a couple of years ago.  JL had to get the band to quiet down!

They played the fight song Sat.

We'll play between plays and during a ralley...but our band has been known to slip during game play.

The band is not very loud with 40,000+ fans screaming and clapping... they need to install some portable microphones to pump the band through the speakers.  When you're sitting on the visitors side you can't hear them at all.

Our 2-bits is a ripoff.  Can't stand him.  Why do we need to copy something the Gators do??  What's next? "We are the boys of South Florida..." ??

I like the student's chorus when the band plays "Rock & Roll, Part II"...

Na na naaaaa na, Hey! Go Bulls!

Na na naaaaa na, Hey! Go Bulls!

Na na naaaaa na, Hey! Go Bulls!

We're gonna beat the **** out of you...

and you and you and you...

Makes me laugh every time.

Pink Floyd was as bad of a choice as Queen.  I hope to God they don't play it again.  The hard part is that they practice one routine for the games and for their competitions.  And it looks like these competitions dictate their choice of music.

What we really need is a band director that is also a rabid college football fan.

FAMU played a lot during their team's play ...... maybe that's norm for them.

You can play the drums at all times. You can play the other instruments while the 25 second clock isn't running.

I remember seeing 2 bits at the game back in 2000. I remember saying we will get nowhere ripping off other school's traditions.

I have always been very very opinionated about USF playing rock music, they have gotten better about it. But one of the best parts of college football are the bands and the crowd. Our crowd noise and activity is nowhere near a top BCS caliber crowd.
