Scott Kuykendall Named to Sports Information Staff

(August 17, 2005) TAMPA, FLA. -- The University of South Florida department of athletics has announced the hiring of Scott Kuykendall as an assistant director of sports information.

Kuykendall will serve as the sports information contact for men's basketball while also supervising the department's web site (www.GoUSFBulls.com).

Kuykendall arrives in Tampa after spending six years as the men's basketball contact at Western Michigan University. Promoted to associate director of media relations in August of 2003, Kuykendall worked for three seasons (2001-03) with current USF head coach Robert McCullum. He also served as the primary contact for six other Mid-American Conference sports, including men's and women's soccer and softball.

"We are extremely fortunate to add Scott to our staff," says assistant athletics director John Gerdes. "He brings an outstanding background and we believe he will be a tremendous asset to our sports information team."

Kuykendall began his career with a pair of internships at Cincinnati (1997-98 ) and Mississippi State (1998-99) before moving on to WMU.

A native of New Berlin, Wis., he graduated from UW-Platteville in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast

technology management, minoring in journalism.

Man, Harvey... every time you post you clearly show how uninformed you really are...

Go back and look at the posts... I can't begin to count how many people complained about the website... the lack of available information... the frequency (or lack thereof) of updates... etc.

Howie's post tells us that there is now an assistant SID who is directly responsible for the website... someone we can complain to... someone we can suggest things to.

I actually agree with Harvey on this one... personally Howie, you're a better source of info than that guy will ever dream of being... sounds like the good 'ole USF networking system still exists... is he the best for the job though?

because he's somehow affiliated with Coach Mac, he's probably not up to par.....right Sheriff?

Sounds like we're actually trying to upgrade our website info.  A positive in my book.  Let's hope it works out.

Rumor around the block is Coach Mac did not get along with last yrs BBall SID, So Mac put his foot down and said to  bring in his guy.
