I thought we proved last season Gulf Coast Offense > Art Briles style offense when we smacked around Syracuse.

We proved that the GCO > Syracuse defense

They're offense wasn't bad and their QB is half as talented as QF. Likely we'll need something a little different this year without Mack's speed in the backfield keeping everyone honest.

Sounds weird to me too, having no playbook. Might force the players to commit schemes to memory better, but if they forget or get confused in the heat of battle...

It is what it is at this point, not Gilbert's first rodeo so I trust it until it breaks down.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
