There is no P5 in college basketball ... if there was, Tubby wouldn't be at Memphis.

there is and isn't...the P5 football programs make SO much money off football they can invest heavily in hoops if they choose to.

there are some non-P5 powers in conferences like the BE and AAC...Memphis happens to be one of those teams.

I mean, Texas Tech (you mentioned Tubby) doesn't have much hoops tradition, but they can pay 2 million a year for a basketball coach simply because they're in the Big XII...USF can't do that.
