USF WBB Loses to Memphis in OT

Memphis shot the lights out from the line. Win at UCF on Sunday, and we're maybe still in the T25, but probably 22-23 range.

We had so many stupid mistakes, but Memphis did earn it on the line. But Stringfield HAS to learn to pass the ball, she can be a very good shooter but when the game is on the line she is NOT the player who we want taking the shots, unless she is wide open. She was shooting behind the back layups and shot a layup that went 6 feet above the rim in the last 2 minutes, and Courtney didn't even touch it on those possessions.

USF WBB is a frindge sweet 16 team. That is highly, highly respectable (and incredibly great compared to that other team who plays in the Sun Dome), but they are no where near a final four team that some were thinking at the start of the year.

If we play like we do against Uconn every game we could be a final four team easily, but sadly that doesn't happen.

 We just play bad on the road. All road game wins so far have been decided by 4 points or less. I don't know how we lose to a 9-9 memphis team that plays in a glorified high school gym. The Louisville revenge game will be a blowout if something doesn't get fixed

They have been having difficulty all year closing games out down the stretch. They had the lead with 9 seconds to go and couldn't get the stop. Too many turnovers down the stretch in a lot of games. Caught up to them last night. It is something that needs to get cleaned up in post. Season play. 

I also think we were out rebounded. Without Jenkins being healthy, someone needs to step up. Williams cant do it on both ends of the floor without the team suffering. Laksa needs to cleanup the fouls. 

Still on track for our best year ever  just can't afford any more stumbles

They deserve to drop, but not out of the T25 IMO. I'm disappointed our team comes off the throttle in some games--if they can't figure that out, we won't be making a run this year.

Coaching has to be questioned.  Agree with BullsFan1219 and usfgrad84, This team should not be sliding by on the road against mediocre teams at best.  Then to lose to an average team like Memphis is not the traits of a top 20 team.  Look at the teams that consistently make the sweet 16, they don't lose to teams like Memphis and squeak out wins against ECU.  They hammer those teams.  Hopefully Jose can get this turned around, but this team is not a sweet 16 team by any means.
