Blackman HS finished the year ranked #2 in the country. The previous year they were #1. #2 The 2013-14 national champions won their second straight Tennessee 3A state title on March 8. MeMe Jackson is off to Tennessee, K.K. Williams is headed to Georgia State and Alex Johnson will play for Tennessee State. Returning for Blackman will be UConn recruit Crystal Dangerfield, a two-time Gatorade state player of the year, and undeclared junior Jazz Bond. Blackman's two losses were to Potter's House (Jacksonville, Florida) and Mater Dei.http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/women/recruiting/powerrankings?week=99&rankingId=28&season=2014

She is also ranked with three stars and a 90 rating. She is listed as their #17 post player. "January 2014: Long, athletic and versatile low post performer with off-the-charts potential; superb in transition game, rebounds and finishes in traffic; developing back-to-basket game; defends away from rim." http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/191145/shandrea-leverett Has anybody heard of her verbal to USF? Jazz is listed as their #16 Forward "Tennessee Turkey Jam-November 2014: An emerging offensive threat, defensive presence, shot blocker, mobility, high ceiling possibilities; length and agility complemented by added strength have elevated ability." http://espn.go.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/190239 Apparently all "90" rated post players are "#17" All "90" rated forwards are "#16" This from a post on the UConn board complaining why their verbal, P Kyla Irwin didn't have 4 stars. LOL "Neither Kyla Irwin nor Molly Bent (UConn verbals) cracked the top 100 for 2016 (but based on their position rankings, it APPEARS Irwin was the next post in line while Bent had just one guard ahead of her after the top 100)." "This is a common misreading of the espnW position rankings. Take a look at this page, which is a list of all post players in the espnW database in the 2016 class. You'll see a bunch of players, including Irvin, listed as the #17 post player. Basically, all the post players with a grade of 90 are tied as the #17 post player, so no one player can be identified as being just outside the top 100. The same is true of the guards, with Bent tied with a number of others as the #28 guard." "

I did try searching before posting, but I guess the abbreviation of her name as "Shae" in that thread, threw a curveball into the results. LOL Also from that thread, nice to see we have a third verbal for 2016, 6' Wing Respect Leaphart, Dunbar HS. She is a very good player, but I can't find her in the ESPN data base. Apparently, they don't realize that she gave us a verbal.
