  1. and it can gain interest. It would also give a real gauge to demand for an OCS instead of speculation.
  2. Gotta start somewhere, hell it could be earning interest in an account right this very second.
  3. I guess not enough people were fired last year for his liking, maybe clean house again?
  4. I've tried to do this, if you call the foundation and athletics and tell them you want to donate money specifically to be used for a future OCS they won't let you........So basically, if we want to do this it has to be separate from the school, which is absurd. Granted, if someone dropped seven or eight figures they might put it aside but basically anything less than that they won't let you do it. There is no fund at this time. Couldn't a NPO or public account be set up in the university's favor?
  5. Taggart doesn't seem the type to keep dead weight around. I imagine his #Dosomething and constant competition philosophies apply to his coaching staff as well.
  6. Ok everyone ******** about the OCS.. Each of you donate at least $100 to the school this year to get the ball rolling. Start a specific fund for this and start #doingsomething. I am fairly neutral on OCS but hell even ill pitch in $100. Start somewhere. I figure it would be a good milestone for the team to play their first down in an OCS in the 25th year of the program.
  7. That is too bad. I hope he is granted the extra year.
  8. In no order, if this system was in place last year, it could have been a playoff looking like: FSU (possibly Notre Dame) - ACC Kansas State - B12 Nebraska (ohio was banned) -B10 Louisville - BEast Boise - Mw Tulsa - CUSA Standford - PAC Alabama - SEC Speculating a round 2 being: Alabama vs Nebraska Louisville vs FSU and the championship Alabama vs Louisville (could go either way with FSU) Assuming other conferences dissolved into these conferences.. To me that actually doesn't look too bad of a playoff.
  9. This would likely NEVER happen but IF: The 10 conferences re align further to make 8 conferences, and each conferences sends their champion to the play off 1st round: 1vs8 2vs7 3vs6 4vs5 2nd round: 1vs4 2vs3 Championship 1vs2 Done, everyone has an equal chance to play in the championship and is a true champion of the country. will the 2nd place team int he SEC be better then most of the G5 schools? Yes, now but given a balanced opportunity to get to play in the championship I think recruiting would balance out and all football games would become more entertaining. However the SEC would lose power and that is the main reason something like this wouldn't happen.
  10. Taggart is selling the dream, that these kids can stay home stick together and make a HUGE splash. I am just really hoping that the dream keeps alive on the field.
  11. This. This x2 Also the conference as a whole needs to win their non conference games. I will be rooting for any American team in a out of conference match up. That is the only way this conference can build itself up.
  12. He may very well be a great pick up and I'm pleased with all of the solid commits this early in the year (far more than we have ever had), but the recruiting sites don't seem to favor Brown. I'm taking the number of early commits as a sign that Taggart is confident in the talent (as opposed to holding out to see who might work out by the end of the season) and not concerned with how they might stack up against other recruits more favored by the recruiting sites. The hidden value is the Tampa connection. He is getting these kids together as friends. That will impact high rated recruits down the road who will buy into doing something special with their friends and being hometown stars. I agree with other posters though, don't value the stars. Taggart has been wise to surround himself with good teachers. They will teach these guys how to play good football.
  13. Man, if Taggart can coach as well as he has been recruiting these will be some exciting years!
  14. There are a lot of things that just seem to make sense with this. I do like the parts of the article that talks about his character. It seems like he may very well be on the road back to success. Hopefully we can provide the right support and education for this young man.
  15. Did we need more room? I thought we were ok because someone dropped back a class due to grades. I don't think dropping a walk on does much for room...and I don't think is news, as Data points out, this is just likely updating to show where he's headed. Good luck to him. I forget who it was but we had someone sign int he 2013 class that was dropping back to spring enrollment due to scores thus making him part of the 2014 class correct? or is he still 2013 as far as scholarships go? Besides if he does sign with us it wont be long before we get the scholarship back anyways.

  17. We need depth, this guy not only will shine but give us depth at a position that has a little question as of the spring game. Not that I don't have faith in who we have at that position now but the more skill the better. If he has issues sit him, suspend him, whatever. We will work that out, but even if this guy can push our other guys at practice and make them better then our team benefits as a whole. Being that we have room on the roster this year lets get everyone we can.
  18. And no big conference cares about past games. It's about how many eyeballs a school will bring to TV in the long run. So 50,000 future McDonalds workers in Whorelando impresses the TV gurus? Why do you have to be a "Richard" about it????? What did Burger King ever do to you? I need someone to serve me those flame broiled bundles of happiness... Screw you guys ... It's all about the red-headed pigtailed, freckle-faced girl when it comes to fast food. She doesnt have pigtails.. That is just so wrong ..... And the winner of the burger sweepstakes is: No no if it is about fast greasy burgers it is all
  19. I know right? I stopped going to ESPN since they no longer consider us football worthy.
  20. Smazza not to debate that the situation is less then desirable but how might it look to potential recruits who possibly land here while investigating a school? or growing up in the area as USF fans to hear their fan-base screaming as loud as they can that the era for USF football is over and will never be back? I for one am hopeful that we can still build excitement for this team even if we are not at the SEC level. Taggart has come in an changed the energy at USF, lets change the energy here and get excited about football again, before the bandwagon when Taggart starts winning. There are a lot of good things our very young football team has done. If it takes us 25 years to get to the power5 that is still a good track record.
