  1. GO BULLS! I'm looking forward to seeing him dunk on our foes.
  2. And, no, if you go with the power conference, there's no OCS in the near future in this deal. So, which door is it?
  3. We've not had a major runner since Andre Hall; he was our Barry Sanders and created a lot of stuff on his own. And at the QB position, we've always had mobile QBs who were Mr. everything. Okay, so now we have a new system. (1) How's the running going to be different (as in more yards on the ground)? (2) We keep hearing the QB position is more complicated with lots more plays. Our QB guys are all basically new to system. Any chance for real success? So back to the topic title, do you think our QB position or RB position (with the players we have now) will have a greater chance for success this year?
  4. "Fish that are still in the water belong to the sea." Heck, even when they come into the boat, there's the USF academic committee! Football season can't start soon enough for me.
  5. I really like that we didn't get somebody from a small program or from an unknown institution (USF's not going the old $1.99 route). This is a big step in the right direction. GO BULLS!
  6. 1) Playing with team pride and giving 100% effort -Leavitt got his guys to do it; Holtz didn't. 2) Playing team football. No stupid penalties and doing what it takes to win as a team. 3) Great special teams. This could be worth as much as 7 points or more. 4) Great game plan. If the plays are predictable, it's a big setback. 5) Great defense: We've gotta stop people! 6) Red Zone scoring. If you can't punch it in, you can't expect to win games. 7) Depth. It's a long season. ----------------------------------- Let's see what CWT and company cook up with the guys that we have. I BULLIEVE!
  7. Ball State 31 USF 27 Temple 37 USF 28 And we were left without a starting QB and a starting RB.
  8. (He's playing the guitar.)
  9. I just want that winning spirit back. We lost so much more than the record indicates in the last three years; we lost the faith that our program used to have. I've watched some of the WKU post-game videos and I think CWT will bring that back to USF. This is job #1: Get the USF pride back.
  10. 1) Our secondary is going to need help, so I like that our D-line is going our strength. Actually, I'll take a good line over good secondary any day. 2) Backs, we've got a mess of them, in cluding FB Swanson. I want to see who's going to be THE MAN. I'm excited! 3) QBs, let's see who's going to be the new general in the new system -remember, it's not Leavitt ball anymore! 4) Receiver: we've got some good ones. Let's see how they do. Let's get back to the basics and WIN SOME GAMES! GO BULLS!
  11. Okay, this ends the summer recruiting "fun". We were 1 for 3. I'll take it; we got Bench.
  12. "If you have nothing nice to say, keep quiet." I'm shutting my pie hole. *Sigh*
  13. If this guy ends up at USF, he needs to do 100 push ups or something to make up for trying to use USF as a leverage point. --I just don't like this kind of recruit. This is the kind of player I LOVE:
  14. Remember the quote is from Hill, who's talking about school size, which could very well mean USF. Anyway, this recruit is like dating a stripper. It might work out very well, but, man, the image thing is going to be a big drag for months.
  15. I'm just curious to see if folks are doing all they can to expand The Bulls Nation. *No children here. Just this kid & he's too young for college.
  16. We're just ants on a mound of dirt in space... --ants that play football! GO BULLS!
  17. I lived in Albany. GA is a weird state... You mean Al-BENNY? Yes ... yes it is. I called it Albania -with apologies to the country.
  18. I lived in Albany. GA is a weird state...
  19. Something is not right in Demark... How many football schools in America and this guy can't get a look? Well, yeah, there's WKU, where the most honorable coach in the world works. This makes me more concerned about our offer -that is if it's still available. I'm now 50/50 on how I feel about him coming to USF. If he doesn't come here, I'm good with it. If he makes it to USF, I'm going to wait till October or November to decide if I like the whole idea. Something makes me wonder deeply about how smart this is for USF. I'll trust CWT on this.
  20. No official word but the quote from Arkansas Baptist's Pres was by the end of the week. So I think Friday is an accurate guess, but nothing concrete. He's waiting for someone to pay for #5 and the apple pie...
  21. I actually think that we've seen our worst season (*cough* Holtz). For the first time in about four years, I'm really excited. I think we'll finally see good play-calling on offense. I don't know. I'm really hanging my hat on that Harbaugh magic to find its way to USF football. As for the defense, we have a former NFL defensive coordinator and a secondary coach who coached at LSU. I can't see how we will be that bad. Six games get us to a bowl. I think we can pull it off.
  22. I know so many of us live and die with recruiting news. It's like gambling with the emotions. Okay, so far, what's been your happiest commit and biggest disappoinment? Dang, I just realized that I've suffered more than been happy! Ain't right... ------------------------------------------------------------ Here are mine: Happiest: Mike Ford's commit. Saddest: Keith Brumbaugh. Second was Jonnie Selvie's commit to UConn. There are other wounds, too!
