  1. Exactly! Seth had everybody playing streetball, which was exciting. But we never won a thing. Winning is the best style. I swear, if we have all that talent coming in and no longer playing the Big East schedule next year, and if we blow chunks again, I'm going to be join the Dark Side. I'm just tired of losing.
  2. Okay, I don't know anything about Mr. Bench; I refuse to research until he signs with USF. But here's the thing. If he can't get a starting job at Penn State, should he be worrying about the NFL right now?
  3. The former 45-year-old man said Lunt can't go to so and so... USF would be okay, though. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/wes-lunt-not-allowed-transfer-big-12-sec-221525359.html He could be a nice get along with Bench. I must admit I know nothing about him.
  4. I'm planning to play $5 today. If I win, USF would get 100 million toward the stadium. My only condition: Leavitt Field at Lee Roy Selmon Stadium And I would be an anonymous donor. Also, I'd donate some money to Brad to hire on a team of designers, photographers, whatever he needs, to make the BullsPen a souped up Lamborghini of a site for the next 50 years!
  5. WOW. That's some old stuff, Brad! First thing that came to my mind: "I was young back then."
  6. I'm not getting excited for Bench. Trickett tricked me. Still wounded. (Ha! Ha!) When Greg lets us know, I'll be happy then.
  7. Thank you for the post, bullsbucsfan426. All I have to say is that if we are going to build a stadium, we need to do it in a first-class way, not the instant stadium kit like UCF and then see the whole place shake on TV. This means we can't rush this thing and we need enough funding.
  8. "Looks like USF is moving to another conference. We are trying to keep them the league, of course. But it looks to be imminent."
  9. Hmmm. Very interesting. I had no idea he did that. Great, if true. Leavitt had the worst time bringing in good linemen. Or maybe he didn't care about them. I think like mentioned above, it's the offensive line that's going to be the crucial piece of the puzzle. RBs, I think we actually have some good ones. Granted, they don't have the experience. It may be the rotating-RB again, but we'll get some yards, if there's run blocking. I mean in the old scheme, the RB was mainly there to keep the other team guessing. Defensively, it may be something that we can count on. Heck, a former NFL defensive coach has got to be able to put together a group that can stop the likes of ucf and Houston. --One would think!
  10. Good work, Breedwell! Very true. We'd be in a world of hurt running the old system with the QBs we have on the roster.
  11. Disclaimer: I'm no football guru. Though, I was pretty good at Tecmo Bowl. (read the bold for the executive summary version!) Leavitt installed an offense based on the QB doing most of the work, with fast receivers running everywhere. We could never run the ball well out of the back position because it's tough as heck to get a top RB (okay, we got Hall but he was a JUCO), not to mention good offensive linemen. And I always thought it was the latter: poor run blocking. And then we got great athletes on the defensive side. He pumped them up before games and they went out and caused havoc -most of the time. Case in point, I don't think we've had many players drafted on the offensive side of the ball. Coaches who recognized Leavitt's trick always managed to beat him, like that guy who coaches for the Bucs now. Holtz stepped in and inherited a pretty good system, at least in year one. And then I don't know what happened. Well, yeah, the defense went south... Okay, but that's a dead horse. In comes our current coach, who wants to install a completely different kind of football system. Brad had brought it up in another thread, about all the positions other than the QB. And I think that's a good point. Is it a matter of switching everything offensively and then just pulling the switch or does it take a few years? (1) Do we have the line people to block for a 1,000-yard runner? (2) Do we have that kind of workhorse runner? (3) Do we have the QB and receiver(s)/TE combo to get us that first down each time? Right now, it worries me a lot, the offense that is. Coach came in as the signing period ended. He had no time to bring in the guys that are needed for his kind of offense. I don't see how the staff will make all the offensive changes necessary for next year and be successful --when we don't have all the right players. I'm hanging my hat on the defense. I hope they are a great bunch, the best we've seen in years. We're going to need them to step up.
  12. After the interview Greg posted, I think we have a good shot to sign him. Disclaimer: Does he have family or personal connections at the other places?
  13. That guy that emailed USF about firing Holtz, he gets my vote for being on the list. I be if he didn't start the ball rolling, we'd be looking at USF football destruction year number four.
  14. It's great that the ladies won the conference title. But I think how they did was truly impressive. They had to dig themselves out of that huge slump at the start of the season and kept on finding their way back to success. You have to appreciate the work ethic and the dedication that the whole team exhibited this season!
  15. Whoa! I thought they all made it back. (Bad memory!) I didn't read the title clearly until now. I feel like a turd for my original post.
  16. Texas sucks. I've always hated Texas. Now, there's one more reason.
  17. And I bet this phrase or something like it didn't come into play: "FSU is coming to Tampa to play the Bulls. Do you want to be on the team that makes history or the one that goes home to Tallahassee with a loss?"
  18. Good to know. That gives Mike a good chance to compete for the starting job.
  19. Does anybody know if Mike White is allowed to come on campus and practice this summer? If he doesn't attend classes this summer, that means he's not a student, which means there's got to be insurance issues and all of that. I'm only guessing. I just want him to get all the practice that he needs to have a chance at starting next year. That's my hope, anyway.
  20. I hope we never have to go through this again. I hate being so desperate for a QB. And to be realistic, I don't even go above 15% as our chance of signing Bench or another QB. It's a shot in the dark at this point in the year. Recruiting is all about building relationships. There's almost none with these "summer free-agents."
  21. Also, in my mind, Shaun is the most important 3-point player we've ever had. He made them when we needed them to go in.
