  1. We've had bad news for months now. I think we are due for some good news. This signing would lift our spirits going into next year. I wonder if he intends to sign with USF, why he wouldn't do it before he goes home? (Meaning, it could be that he's signed the documents to play for USF!)
  2. THANK YOU --You saved me from a deep depression. LOL
  3. You guys are killing me. I don't know who to believe anymore.
  4. Our players are getting chances with how many NFL teams? It irritates me to no end that we have no starter QB on the roster and we were humiliated this past year. And we are still paying the guy.
  5. Apparently, everything runs through the athletics department and they arrange it all. Pretty easy. So, no worries on getting Trickett in the door in time for May 13th, if he signs with USF.
  6. When an athlete gets a USF scholarship, is it the case that tuition is immediately zeroed out when the person registers for classes? Or is it like a regular scholarship/fellowship? When I went and got one, it was an awarded fund and then you pay tuition with it. Let's say Clint Trickett chooses USF (75% chance!) and starts graduate school on May 13th. If it's the latter case with a regular the scholarship/fellowship, I don't see how all this can be worked out in time. Unless, the USF Athletics Dept. just becomes the place that handles all the bills from the school. I'm pretty sure USF's got it all worked out but I'm just curios.
  7. Thanks, Bulls, for the updates! Okay, here's how I see it: Three schools are in play, as he's probably got to make a decision within the next seven days, if not sooner. The mountain team: if something jumped out, he would have not taken any other visits and committed. Auburn: Same thing as the mountain team. He came to USF third and last. Cool. I think getting along with the coaches and the players and being the guy that takes charge is what matters most to him, with the greatest emphasis on the last part, I feel. Otherwise, I think he would have chosen to stay at FSU or committed to either of the other two teams. He's about to get his degree and he wants to be THE QB, not slug it out for playing time. To this end, I think USF has to be the place. I give this as a 75% chance that he's going to be a Bull. There's so much enthusiasm at USF football headquarters now, and this has got to impress him. Lock it up, Bulls! I give this a 75%
  8. In 2012, the 90th pick went to New England Patriots, who selected Jake Bequette, a DE from Arkansas. His contract was: Contract: 4 yr(s) / $2,659,800 Signing Bonus $539,800 2012: $390,000 (base) $134,950 (bonus) $5,000 (misc) http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/jake-bequette/
  9. I thought he was visiting USF before them. No updates from anyone about USF's visit?
  10. I hope he enjoys/enjoyed his visit to USF. GO BULLS!
  11. Well a lot of you bellyache like the sky is falling every day. I just wanted to see where people stood.
  12. Curious, do most of you Bulls think that the best days of USF athletics are ahead or behind us?
  13. I'm worn out with "hope" basketball. Hope basketball lasted 20 years and then got paid off with the Tournament wins. Now, I don't want to start another 20 years. Just win and we'll talk.
  14. He's visiting USF, which means he hasn't decided. We have a chance! Let's see how our coaching staff do.
  15. I can't that believe in all of America we can't find a QB to play for us next year. Aren't there any JUCO QBs out there? And for those of you who aren't panicking, remember when B.J. went down? --How about a whole season of that? I know Mike is pretty good but that's asking a lot of him.
  16. No! This IS the greatest rugby commercial.
  17. Each passing day that he hasn't signed with the mountain team, my hope goes up!
  18. This is the biggest football recruit for USF in a long time. This guy was #1 QB for the 'Noles going into their spring game. We need him very badly. In my opinion, this is the biggest USF football recruit since B.J. Daniels. ...why did I have to research? Now, I'll be on pins and needles for the next several weeks. Dang!
  19. This is our biggest QB recruit in years. He was listed as the #1 QB for the 'Noles coming into spring. They want to win the national championship and have a more talented QB now. This guy could turn our team into a winner. We need him!
  20. It's interesting that both Trickett and Carnes could be Bulls soon. (Just speculating)
  21. If he can get in to USF and if we have a scholarship, why not take a chance? There's no risk.
  22. I like our chances. I'd say USF has a edge over the mountain team. 1) we need him and want him. In the mountains, he'd be muscling in as an outsider. 2) our head coach has charisma and they know each other from before. 3) Tampa vs. the mountains... 4) 100% chance of starting for 2 years at USF. In the mountains, he'd have to compete. Didn't want to do it at FSU...
