  1. It's a must-win game, on the road. Who would you take as your QB? Blackwell? Grothe? Daniels? ...some other Bull?
  2. If they take Miami, USF and UCF, that's a huge chunk of the State of Florida pie. Maybe all three schools need to come together and make a proposal.
  3. +1 We have PLENTY of billionaires! http://www.xe.com/currencyconverter/
  4. I just watched the game again. What a good team we had! Remember when we had a good QB? Game tied 24/24 in OT. 3rd & 10 from the 25. Grothe to Taurus Johnson streaking in the middle as he crossed into the end zone: TD! Grothe was on fire the whole game. They doubled team Selvie all night but he still kept motoring through. What a sweet victory, as UCF gasped for a first down and didn't make it. #17 USF 31 UCF 24
  5. USF Bulls give contract extensions to coaches [...] Stan Heath [...] run through the 2017-18 school year. http://www.tampabay.com/sports/colleges/usf-bulls-give-contract-extensions-to-coaches-skip-holtz-and-stan-heath/1239065
  6. I was very deflated this year after the miracle run last season. I know we didn't get the center that we needed, but some of the games were pretty bad this year, as bad as I've seen USF in the past, if not worse. And I'll never forgive the geniuses that scheduled the Sun Dome opener... All in all, I call it a wash right at this juncture with my faith in Coach Heath and Company: We got to the Dance and that balanced out all the other negatives, including this year. If we didn't have facilities, it would be really depressing. As it is, I'm all right with things. Okay, we have new facilities and a new class coming in, not to mention new basketball foes next season. Cool. It's ground floor of a new era in USF basketball in my eyes. Q: Can Coach Stan Heath take us back to the Dance many more times and make USF men's basketball a winning program? I've been researching and after looking at everything, I have no doubt that he can do it -build USF into a winner. Will we see streetball? Nope. It's going to be grind-it-out stuff but we will win. I'll take winning over any style! Winning is everything. You have my full support, Coach Heath! He led Ken State to the Elite Eight with defense. http://www.nytimes.com/2002/03/23/sports/college-basketball-south-kent-state-is-surprising-even-itself-this-season.html Ken State-Pitt Box score: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/college/men/boxscores/2002/03/21/pal_kae/ 2002 bracket: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/college/2002/ncaa_tourney/brackets/ Stan Heath Named Basketball Coach at Arkansas http://www.arkansasrazorbacks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=6100&ATCLID=183895 Despite 20 wins this season, Arkansas fires Heath http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2813245 Some interesting polls and posts from the Razorbacks right when he got fired. http://www.hogville.net/yabbse/index.php?topic=116319.0;nowap http://www.hogville.net/yabbse/index.php?topic=118763.0;nowap http://www.hogville.net/yabbse/index.php?topic=130052.0;nowap An interesting article from an Arkansas paper last year: "Heath's Razorback Tenure As He Ends USF's NCAA Tournament Drought" http://www.arkansasbusiness.com/article/30051/stan-heath-gets-south-florida-into-ncaa-tournament-a-look-back-at-his-razorback-tenure
  7. FGCU has played a few nice games this season and has achieved some quick success. Good for them. But let's get serious. If that same team went through a full Big East schedule night in and night out, they'd be all torn up.
  8. Here's why we haven't done well (until very recently) with any class when it comes to men's basketball recruiting: 1) Facilities. We never had them till recently. 2) Coaches that couldn't recruit well. Slick Seth did alright; he sold kids on USF. Everyone else since Seth has not been that smooth. Again, having facilities help. 3) We have not had great success. Losing scare kids away. We made to the Dance and the recruiting picked right up. Being in the Big East has killed our winning percentages. Heck, even with DoJo, we couldn't get out from under the woodshed. When we start to play hellacious defense last year, that worked for us. We've never been able to out offense anybody for a whole season --not with Big East competition. 4) We've never had depth. And that has hurt development and team chemistry, especially when people are playing extra roles, etc. 5) The Sun Dome Curse: we've had the worst luck with injuries, etc., over the years! I very happy to be out of Big East basketball. I think we will see recruiting pick up and the talent level will rise.
  9. For anybody who's stuck with USF through all those years and rebuilt the women's program into a winner (after the scandal and mess), he deserves a nice raise and the right to stay with USF for a long time.
  10. This month's Star magazine (one of those tabloid junk magazines) has a Star Trek issue; everything is about Star Trek. Quite entertaining. I grabbed it at the supermarket over the weekend.
  11. That's like three 3s from Inga! http://www.sportbet.com/lines/basketball_college_women 09:30 PM (EST). TV???
  12. I hate reality but this is what's going to happen. I wish it could be avoided.
  13. Wichita State took out #1 Gonzaga and Pitt. Greg Marshall came pretty close to being a USF coach back in 2007. He came to USF but turned down the offer, from my recollection. I'm curious if he could have done the job of rebuilding USF. A big part of me says no, because of how tough the Big East has been. It's relentless and there's no time to build a program. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/teams/wax (2007–08) the team finished with a record of 11-20. In his second season they posted a 17-17 record. The following season (2009–2010), the Shockers went 25-10 culminating with an NIT tournament appearance. In the 2010-11 season Wichita State culminated a season of 29-8, finishing second in the Missouri Valley to Missouri State, by an NIT championship, beating the University Of Alabama 66-57. In the 2011-2012 season, winning the regular season MVC title at 16-2 (26-4 overall), the Shockers reached a ranking of #14 in the coaches poll and #15 in the AP poll. After losing to Illinois State in the Semi-finals of the MVC tourney in St Louis, the Shox were selected at large for the NCAA tournament as a 5 seed, their first NCAA tournament in 6 years. Bitten by the 12 vs 5 seed curse, they fell to VCU, 62-59, ending the season with a 27-6 record.
  14. That was some exciting basketball! Too bad the ESPN feed failed at a bad time. I wish I could have seen the finish. Awesome win! GO BULLS!
  15. Are there odds from Vegas? I want to know the line (I don't gamble except when driving).
