  1. Some of you Bulls need to lighten up. I posted this as a comical way look at it all. It's not like any of us could have done anything to stop the madness. So what with it all, I say. We'll still have USF sports to enjoy.
  2. I don't see how anyone can spin it as anything but the worst divorce deal ever. In college athletics a conference name means TV rights, and all of that, equating to "the house" in the real world. Well, if the basketball schools are getting the "Big East" brand, that means they got the house. Sure, there's one year left on the BCS bid. That's tantamount to not moving out of the house until such and such date. Basically, here's what went down to "the family." 1) Some income earners left permanently. That weakened the households' total income and value. 2) Some people were invited in, agreed, then changed their minds. While others are coming in -all weak income earners. 3) Some more people from the house have banded together and have decided to leave --and then they want the house. "We'll give you some money for it." Result: USF is going to be moving out with two former members and looking for an apartment with some new people! And, already, one of those new people is someone we all hate. He smells and is messy (ucf)! How messed up is that? We're we too selfish? Did we not bring flowers? Did we forget birthdays?
  3. It seems like USF Athletics is really taking a hard hit (Bulls Nation!) in the last few years. Men's basketball making the historic NCAA run has been all we've had to really hang our horns on. It's got to even out at some point! --Or did we burn up a lot of good karma with that NCAA bid and the tourney wins? In all my years as a Bull, this has got to be some of the toughest times for USF Athletics in terms of wins, positive results and vibes in all our sports. And don't forget in the pocketbooks too, with the paycheck to Skip. We need Sarah McLachlan to make a video for USF Athletics, like the one she did about the homeless animals that make you want to look away! I need a beer.
  4. I know it is wayyy early. But right off the recruiting & signing action, I sort of want to see opinions on the pulse of the team. I just don't think we will be that bad. My thinking is that we regressed because of poor coaching. Anyway, men's basketball is back to getting slaughtered. So, rightly, USF football should be back to making a minor bowl, unless the universe is so out of alignment.
  5. I think we have plenty of talent on the team, both incoming and returning players. Even at QB, I think we will be better than most fans feel right now. We will win with defense next year, like the old days of good USF football. I think we win at least 6 and make a bowl bid. 08/31 - McNeese State (W) 09/07 - at Michigan State (L) 09/14 - Florida Atlantic (W) 09/28 - Miami (FL) (W)* Home: Cincinnati (L), Louisville (L), Memphis (W), Southern Methodist. (W) Away: UCF (L), Houston (W), Connecticut (W), Rutgers. (L) Bright spot prediction: we will have a solid runner, the first since Andre Hall. Low point: losing to the gnats in a close game in the "shake, rattle and roll" aluminum-recyclable stadium. * Miami is going to lose to uf at home. The next week against Savannah State, they will have three people in the stadium, which will hurt their pride. They come into Tampa weakened and questioning themselves. Meanwhile, USF is looking to prove itself. 08/31 - Florida Atlantic 09/07 - Florida 09/21 - Savannah State 09/28 - at USF
  6. I give it an A+ Why? I never expected USF to grow something it never had and took the boot to Holtz the Program Destroyer. In an alternate universe Holtz would still be coaching at USF and we'd be all pretty miserable right about now. Given that possibility, this is an A+. The miracle continues (the miracle in that we have a new coaching staff and we actually had fun as fans following recruiting). GO BULLS!
  7. This was the dream back in the 90s, when we wanted USF football. It's so cool to see it realized. (Local players dream of play football for USF.) "...one of the bay area’s most coveted prospects and wind up signing with USF, his dream school? But that's exactly how things happened for Love, the headliner among a large contingent of Countryside seniors who signed their letters of intent in the school’s media room. "It’s crazy to think about how far I’ve come,†Love said. “I feel too blessed to be where I’m at. But this is just one step toward bigger things.†Love, the Times' 2011 Pinellas County defensive player of the year, dominated in the trenches, recording a combined 23 sacks the past two seasons. But it wasn’t until last month when he started to get recruited by USF, the school he hoped to play with all along. "I’ve always had USF gear and they’ve been at the top of the list,†Love said. “It’s just amazing how fast everything went with the process.†http://www.tampabay.com/hometeam/blog/new-usf-bull-mike-love-headlines-countrysides-14-p/16533/
  8. He's a good back. But I bet you'll our coaches fix his "beer belly" running style! I've never seen that in college football. I don't think he's going to be the first. We brought in two excellent backs!
  9. The flip video is still one of my favorites.
  10. This gives me hope for JoJo. You don't back out of a press conference unless something changed dramatically --I think USF did something here.
  11. "Near 4-star," is that a new rating? That aside, I hope he comes to USF.
  12. QB doing all of the work, Last year, or this upcoming year? i got lost about 1/2 way through the post. We ran quite a bit when Andre Hall was here. Yeah, Andre Hall was our Berry Sanders and the Detroit Lions; Berry did all the work. I hope McCray becomes great for us.
  13. That sounds like something one would say after a date --and not intending see the person again. I hope he signs but I'm not going to "wait by the phone."
  14. He needs to come to USF! When life tells you, "You aren't good enough," you need to kick life back and show what you are made of. I'd be always pulling for him if he became a Bull.
  15. By the way, I know it's a dead horse. Worse than dead. But look at that video. The dude hit his staff on live TV. ------------- I'm just glad Jim Leavitt is going to the Super Bowl. ------------- Okay, I'm done now. I'm burying the horse! I just have never seen that clip till it was posted on here. Sorry folks!
  16. I know we all want a few QBs in this class but it may be that Mike White is the only incoming QB. Are you okay with this? I'm guessing next year is when we hit it hard and go after some prospects. What was Holtz thinking? With the same offensive scheme, next year was going to be a debacle never witnessed on the Bulls' football field without B.J. part II. I think our new Coach and staff are going to change everything offensively. I don't think we've ever seen Bulls' football like this. I'm talking about the QB doing all the work. Jim Leavitt implemented this system and got the QBs that we needed to run it. Remember when we didn't have the right QB in there? Thank goodness for Matt Grothe and B.J. Daniels. Okay, so we are going to run the ball. But do we have the linemen to open holes who are ready to start? That seems to have been the weakness of USF football for so many years. I guess I'm just a little worried about next year, offensively speaking. I know we are going to have a better defense, and this class is going to help a lot.
  17. Mr. White is a good guy. Go Bulls! Mr. Orange was not. And Mr. Blonde, he was insane!
  18. What Coach needs to do is open it up to every student who wants to try out for it. I bet with all the war vets coming home and going to college, etc., there's an older guy somewhere who can throw the heck out of the ball! Wouldn't it be cool if we got a super QB from out of nowhere? Okay, I did work like 12 hours today. A little tired and a lot crazy!
  19. I agree. QB's a tough position to predict. Carlton Hill, man, I thought he was going to do something special. Not! I just watch Woulard's video on scouts.com and he didn't impress me all that much. He's got the physical attributes but it's a very heady game in college. This guy is a 50/50 shot at best as a solid QB.
  20. I think we'll be just fine at QB with Mike and some of the guys we have. Traditionally, we have never been able to run the ball and so the QB had to do a lot for the team to win. This is a new era now --we're gonna have runners and yards, finally. The QB just needs to be a QB, not a magician.
  21. Yo, I know you love USF basketball, Vega. A lot of us do. I'm referring to the program. This year, I don't know how we'll do.
  22. Man, he's gonna miss all this attention once he selects a school, wherever he goes. The five minutes are about up, Dorothy!
