  1. Locked in an AirBnB a couple of blocks south of the river. It's close enough to downtown for a cheap Uber or scooter ride. The hotels are crazy expensive. Nearly $300/night to stay at the Marriott Courtyard Austin Flights are hovering around $260 RT from TPA > AUS. See you guys there.
  2. I think CJS slightly exceeds expectations with a "good" season in 2020. We'll find out more when the Spring Game comes.
  3. Q's clearly disappointed in his interview. He obviously wants to play QB for the Viper's but it's more likely he will be in the RB position and a 3rd or 4th QB. I'm just happy he's still on the roster.
  4. It is, and it isn't about CJS. Evaluate the big picture, and the future trajectory. Edit: Not sure if you're on twitter. If not, you've missed the flood of tweets @CJS/Athletics/Football/Mkelly from many enthusiastic fans excited about renewing/buying season tickets--IN JANUARY. This IS something worth bragging about because, again, we don't typically see this sort of reaction from fans. It's a good thing, be happy and optimistic!
  5. Let's not pretend any of the previous coaches routinely landed 4-5 star players over the last 15 years. And, even with highly-rated recruiting classes/players...*leans in and whispers*...we still haven't won a conference championship. Bottom line: Michael Kelly inherited a poorly organized grassroots effort doing anything possible to keep people interested in USF football. Winning is great, but the other part of the equation is has been missing for a very long time: engagement. Winning is CJS's job, and I agree, we need to see results (obvs). Engagement is a joint effort between CJS/Athletics/Alum/Students/Community..etc. True USF football success will be determined on how well these pieces come together, so far, we're on the right track.
  6. I'm here to do a welfare check on the Leavitt/Taggart hawkers. Everything good? Good.
  7. Our local newspaper writers, Fennelly and Jones, are habitually bad-mouthing a top 20, undefeated USF football team and you're worried about reported attendance figures that Joey didn't use?
  8. Joey Knight shouldn't be in anyone's cross-hairs since he's a proven friend to USF. Yes, it would be nice if all breaking news came through our well-liked USF beat writer--but that's not the world we live in today and to think otherwise is flat-out wrong. Twitter feeds, TBP forum posts...etc does not make it into printed news media that people in our community read on a daily basis. Right, what's that thing we need so badly, again? Isn't community buy-in on that list? Thought so. Joey does what he can to advocate for USF Athletics and those efforts should not be disregarded, even when he's not the guy that breaks a story. Who cares anyway. If anyone needs to be 'critiqued' and/or motives questioned...it should be Martin Fennelly and Tom Jones. http://www.tampabay.com/sports/college/twenty-years-ago-usf-sat-atop-college-football-almost/2341032
  9. Hey Doug, hope you're enjoying retirement. It'd be appreciated if you trolled the UCF board instead of TBP. Thanks
  10. The push to fill the 'downtime' with loud, crappy music is far more apparent compared to yesteryears. Sad part is (aside from the crap selection) that the soundboard operator has zero coordination with the HOT band, often resulting in the HOT being caught in friendly-fire. Its ridiculous and no other team(I've visited anyway) pumps the music so aggressively. Let the band handle the music.
  11. QF is not the problem and, for those of you who blame the offensive on-field personnel, you're wrong to do so.
