  1. The way I see it, every coaching job is a stepping stone with the exception of a handful of schools (Notre Dame, OSU, Mich, USC, Texas, LSU and Alabama). If I were CAG and were ultra competitive and successful here; as long as USF were paying me very well (think 6-8 mil per year), had access to the CFP, and got moved to a P5, I wouldn’t move until I had an offer from one of those schools. Now, if USF was only willing to pay me 3-4 mil and the CFP went away and didn’t get USF into a P5, then I wouldn’t blame him for jumping to UF, Georgia, etc. I think as long as we can pay him in the range of what other schools will pay him and he can have the same success and exposure as P5’s (CFP), I can see him staying here. CAG seems super genuine and down to earth and that bodes well for loyalty as long as it’s reciprocated. I really like CAG and the potential is there. I finally excited about our present and future!!
  2. We obviously couldn’t afford $9mil a year, but would USF pay somewhere around $5-6 mil a year to try and keep him here when the time comes (if he has us rocking 9-3 or 10-2 records)?
  3. Haha, not quite. To be fair, in the last 10 years MSU has a couple B10 championships and a CFP and a Rose Bowl win.
  4. Honestly, we watch Michigan State A LOT and I don’t want anyone from their team, they are not talented enough for the possible distractions they may bring.
  5. We don’t know that for sure, but that version of the ACC would still be worth more and I’d rather play those teams than Charlotte, UNT and FAU.
  6. Good analysis. As you say, a watered down ACC is still way better than what we’re in. I don’t see us being added to the B12, UCF couldn’t care less about us and the B12 have a strong conference with strong numbers, they don’t need us now, that ship has sailed. Our only realistic chance is the ACC (which would be great because Duke, UCONN, Wake Forest, Stanford and Georgia Tech have great academics and decent sports, which fits our university profile) and I would be ecstatic about that.
  7. Yes, 100%!! Should be our only away uniforms. I am just glad they keep using our gold helmets; the gold pants I am not a fan of, but I’ll take it if it means we keep our gold helmets.
  8. I love the stadium design, a boutique, high end experience. The design is very Florida, love all of the windows and suites. Much like has been said, not sold on St. Pete, Tampa would have been much better. Question still remains, will Stu spend on retaining young talent or still sell. The Rays model of elite scouting, player development and a “team” roster cannot withstand big money superstars. I don’t want to see players like Correa or Machado coming to the bay, it would ruin the culture; but resigning kids like Mclanahan and keeping them here would keep/help the culture. Does Stu seem like he could be a good owner and spend on homegrown kids or just another business man? Idk his style at all, that’s why I’m asking.
  9. I am a beaten dog as well and while I am hopeful; I will not talk of winning or what we’ve won, haha. We definitely look good, but it’s a long season and a lot can happen.
  10. The difference between good teams and bad teams is generally consistency. Our defense has showed up strong for 2 games and our offense has had 2 good games as well. That means we are inconsistent…… now, we have shown good improvement, I believe that we can/will go 6-6 or 7-5 this year, but, we should not be favorites until we show we can play somewhat consistent. We are in our way, but will probably underdogs for a bit yet.
  11. I think BB showed promise last year and has had 2 ok games and 1 real good so far. It is way too early to talk about best in program history yet. I like what I have seen so far and he has more than enough potential to be out QB for his 4 years. That said, he is still real young, the transfer portal can make or break teams and coaching changes can happen. Let’s enjoy watching his development and hold off on comparisons until his senior year.
  12. You’re right, that’s where students and alumni are critical. The OCS will be a big part of this for us. Boise State has that kind of culture and we can too!!
  13. I think we will be 5-3. We could end up 6-2, but I anticipate a trip up somewhere.
  14. Wow, should have proof read that, haha. I meant it’s an opportunity to build our program back quicker than being buried in a P5.
  15. A lot of us said multiple times that the currentAAC sucks and nobody cares about the opponents; BUT, this is where we need/deserve to be and it’s an opportunity to. Hold our program back quicker than being hurried in a P5. Hopefully it’s not too late, but if we can go 6-6 or 7-5 this year, improve in 2024, win the conference in a year or two, we will be I. The right spot when the IVS come for fan increase. This will all feed into conference realignment. Most teams have reduced attendance, Maryland still struggles to fill their stadium except for when they play UM, OSU or Penn St. as long as we are a top team in our conference, students will show up well with the OCS and alumni will show up regardless of the opponent and that’s all that matters. Yesterday was big for us, yes, it’s a building block, but it was a first step and a very fun one at that. Go Bulls!!
  16. If done right, I would take the 35k “boutique” style stadium over a 50-60k bowl type stadium. It’s always quality over quantity and low supply drives high demand. I really like that the Rays recognize that their game going fan base doesn’t require a 69k seating and scale down with luxury suites instead, it looks high quality and on tv a 90% full 30k attendance will look better than a 75% fill 40k stadium. Same goes for our OCS, I am really happy with the approach so far.
  17. I like the idea of them playing as a 2 team conference; it makes sense. They can then keep the name and rights, take whatever MWC teams they want and if they want an east division, gives us another year to improve.
  18. I’ll default to you, I didn’t know he was unavailable.
  19. I agree, I still think there’s a lot of potential there and with time, he could be very good.
  20. BB is still real young, but there were A LOT of missed opportunities. You could see him ready to scramble right when he snapped the ball, never look up after he cleared the defender and miss the swinging RB. I’m not about to write him off yet, there’s a lot of time and growth to be had, but he hasn’t looked good this year and it’s up to CAG to change things up and game plan around BB or see what GB can do. It was definitely a winnable game today.
  21. You maybe right, things still looked too fast for them. I do have to say that they got set fast, but did take a couple seconds to snap the ball. I just think BB doesn’t have the seasoning to move that quick yet, he’s still quite young.
  22. I’m not quite there yet, BUT, the defense looked great and much improved!! The offense on the other hand, not good. Our Oline struggled ( which I expected), BB looks lost and can’t hit an open receiver and out receivers are not there yet. I think this fast offense if not good for BB or our defense; I just don’t think Golesh has the players he needs to run it yet. I do think he will get there and I was very happy and surprised by the performance today. I like CAG a lot!!
  23. Well, we have a running for a QB, we need somebody that can throw the ball consistently.
