  1. I don’t disagree with you. Stanford and Cal bring A LOT more money, cache and negotiating power than Cincy and UCF. My concern is that having to travel across country for the other 25 sports teams that are not football, it’s ridiculous. These are supposed to be student athletes and it’s the Olympic athletes that are getting the raw end of this deal and nobody is talking about it. Back to the topic at hand, haha. I think the ACC needs to stay in the east coast OR have separate west coast/east coast divisions, in which if I was the ACC, I wouldn’t add anyone east of the Mississippi and just add the P2/MWC teams (to balance the travel) which would be disastrous for USF.
  2. Agreed, there are good many historic universities left. Not that it would happen, but the ACC should trade Stanford and Cal for UCF and Cincy for geographic purposes. Add in USF, Memphis, Tulane, UCONN and others, the ACC will survive and be decent. Curious if Amazon Prime would give a nice contract.
  3. I generally agree with you, that’s the timeline I see happening. I would only add that I think the ACC is in panic mode right now; they are trying to figure out how to keep their big fish and get a new TV deal/contract/GoR before they can think about expansion. They need to know who is leaving and when. IF they can get by with only losing 4-5 members, they will be in good shape to add USF, Tulane, Memphis, UCONN or whoever. The B12 are not in a hurry to add USF, because if the ACC explodes, they would get who they want from the leftovers of the B10 and SEC. It’s very much a waiting game until FSU settles with the ACC.
  4. These students deserve a shoutout!! The SoFlo Rodeo is just what our basketball team, athletics and students needed!! This is what makes college sports great!! Not TV, streaming, facilities, it’s this youthful entertainment and pride in our school!! Hats off to them and Go Bulls!!
  5. Completely agree!! Pre-PAC explosion, NOBODY cared about the PAC12 besides Oregon, UCLA and USC. Just because the B12 added everyone else, doesn’t make the conference any better. The B12 was crap before and now it has more crappy schools from a failed crappy conference. Are they better than the AAC, yeah, but that’s not saying much. Are they better than the current ACC, nope, and if the ACC loses FSU and Clemson but gain USF and Memphis (or UCONN), I still think the ACC is still better. I’m sorry, but AZ, ASU, Colorado, Utah, OSU, Kansas, they don’t move the needle at all. VT, UNC, Duke, Miami, and GT are all better than what they have. The ACC could rebuild very quickly and still be the 3rd best conference, it’s nothing like the P12 situation.
  6. In the basketball world, just pay the man and it’s more likely he would stay than in football. There are plenty of examples of coaches staying at G5 schools for quite a while before jumping to a P5; I think it has to do with the fact that every school has a chance to make it to the dance and it’s easier in a mid-major conference to make it and stay consistent. In CFB, you have to be at a P5 for a chance. Outside of Duke, UNC, Kansas and Kentucky, what CBB school is considered THE school. If USF gives CAAR the salary, coaching pool, resources and support, there isn’t a big reason to leave. From a basketball standpoint, USF has nearly everything that mid to lower level P5 schools have in terms of resources and facilities.
  7. I think the main urgency to get into a P4 conference at this point is not CFP, but the afterlife. I believe all of this will blow up in about 15-20 years and we will have conferences of about 10-12 teams again and we want to end up in an “ACC” type conference when it settles and not the CUSA or AAC type.
  8. YESSSS!! I said this in another post a while back. We may not like being in the AAC; but, it is where we need to be. It is the perfect situation for us to grow and learn how to win. Build the culture we should have and then move up if need be. We play who is in front of us, we beat who we play, period!! As we win, we will convert students into fans and a committed alumni base. That in return, sows the investment of the future on and off the field. We could be in the B12 right now getting slaughtered and nobody would care. We didn’t sell out games when we were playing and losing to Georgetown, Syracuse and Villanova; but if we are competing for conference championships (even the AAC), fans will show up. I do believe we should be trying to get with more like minded universities, ie, the ACC, but for now, Let’s just continue to win and pay our successful coaches to try and keep them from leaving. It is a great time for us right now and as others have said, let’s enjoy it!! Go Bulls!!
  9. Yeah, when it comes to basketball, it’s really hard to sell out every game (unless you’re a Duke, UNC or Kansas). If we can be in the top 3 of our conference and competing for NCAA tourneys, I would be happy and not surprised if we average 7-8k per game and get 2 or 3 sellouts when we play the important or big games. It’s the experience of the event last night that creates real fans and wins over the “student”. It’s what helps create the connection and memories that our students haven’t had in a really long time.
  10. Not sure if this has been said, but this is what college basketball is all about!! This is why there are schools that are just fine being a basketball first/only school. I’m glad we are winning in football agin, but college basketball can be just as fun; in my opinion anyways, haha.
  11. I know people don’t want to hear it, but we are in the conference we need to be in right now. Because we are in the AAC, it doesn’t take a lot to turn things around. Hopefully we can continue to win in and build our brand back up and get a call up during the next round of expansion/reallocation. As for making it to the tourney, I think the conference championship team (provided they are any two of the top 4 seeds), gets in.
  12. Yeah, I have no desire to see SF or KC in the Super Bowl again. Also, IF we can beat SF, Baltimore scares me, they’re really good!!
  13. Hey, great game and great season!! I couldn’t text, on the edge of my seat all game, haha.
  14. Yeah, same here, if we lose tomorrow, we will be rooting for the Bucs.
  15. Honestly, you guys have no idea what you’re about to walk into, literally the Lions Den…… 133.6 decibels (4th loudest game ever)!!!
  16. Haha, you can’t break this city my friend!!
  17. For sure and I’m sure I don’t have to explain, all Tampa teams are our #2s, so needless to say, if we loose, it’s Bucs or bust. Funny thing is tho, I liked the Bucs as my #2 before going to USF, always liked Florida teams and the state while growing up here in Michigan (all my school projects were Florida related), don’t ask me why, I don’t remember, but I think the dream of beaches and Palm Trees, haha.
  18. Awesome, thanks, I’ll definitely try and explore that!
  19. I can’t make sweet pictures like that, but I did find this interesting, not used to the Lions getting so much publicity in a positive light, haha.
  20. I love it, I was going to say the same thing about brand name teams. I would go Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Clemson, Ok State, LSU, Texas, Oregon and Colorado. The FSU, UF and Miami is more regional, I’d much rather go national at this point.
  21. Just FYI, Lightning/Red Wings was just moved to 7pm.
  22. What are the odds!?! haha. They are literally 2 blocks apart, usually can share parking spots. If anyone is coming up, let me know; I know a few good spots around here.
