  1. For real, I feel so LUCKY that I was in school for those years!! We had the CFB world by the cojones!! I do wish we would just go back to those helmets and jerseys and ditch everything else.
  2. To enhance the fan experience, we should play this when the players come into the field!! We need this swagger back
  3. Really hoping we can scratch out 5 or 6 wins, we need it desperately!!
  4. BYU could go independent because they had BYUtv (think of NBC lite for Notre Dame football), which paid them well enough. They have a really good and loyal following; the fans literally don’t care if they win championships or not, they just love the team regardless. Therefore, they were not heavily dependent on a conference for survival. It’s a different situation for nearly every other team not in the top 15 most influential teams (Fla, OSU, Mich, Bama, etc). Idk how much longer UCONN can go, I’m surprised they’ve lasted this long.
  5. This article references OS_Beaver, I don’t believe it. There is no way Stanford would be in a conference with FAU or Charlotte, they’d go independent before that happens.
  6. If we get into a best of PAC/MWC/AAC, we keep the Auto 5 and close to $20mil, it would be a better situation than them (easier path to the CFP).
  7. My dream scenario would be this: West. East Stanford. South Florida California. Navy Oregon St. Memphis Washington St Temple San Diego St Tulane Air Force SMU Colorado St Rice
  8. I agree. The PAC needs 8 teams to keep things moving for now. Just add USF, Memphis, SMU and Navy, then add the MWC 4 and I think it’s a respectably GOOD conference, that’s worth an auto 5 spot.
  9. I get that all the time up here in Michigan, they get USF and UCF mixed up or it’s just a “what school is that?” If I start with South Florida 75% know it’s the Bulls and Tampa and the other 25% say “that had to be amazing going to school there, why’d you come back?” Haha. South Florida from a marketing standpoint is on a whole other level than USF.
  10. Completely agree!! Right now, it’s all about image and brand quality. Getting USF out there, bragging about the IPF, radio, tv shows and spots. Banners, internet exposure, any and everything!!
  11. It’s all about branding and market. There are multiple articles about conference expansion and who took who. For instance, Maryland wasn’t taken because of infield success, it was history, academic’s, basketball and DC; Pitt and Syracuse were taken for history, name recognition and basketball (Syracuse anyways) not infield success. Colorado? Deion, not infield success. Arizona and ASU? Name recognition and Phoenix, why wasn’t WSU or OSU taken, no brand or market. Why wasn’t Stanford taken? B1G already had So Cal and they would dilute the well. Cal you ask? USC and UCLA are the name brand Cali teams. Tho we have been terrible for 4 years, people still remember us from the mid 00’s and QF’s run. Tampa is a huge market. You can’t Eve begging to discuss expansion value with FAU, UTSA, UAB or whoever without USF ahead of them. They bring no money, fans or growth potential. UAB had cancelled their football program a few years ago. So, I would beg to differ on “clueless”. Yes, UCF passed us on many levels, Cincy has history, on field success, Cincinnati market and football/basketball. Houston has Houston, football/basketball, huge investments and recent success. We are not blind to that.
  12. Did we vote for FAU or were we overruled? If we voted for them to join, everyone should be fired.
  13. True, we are not the same, BUT, South Florida has a name recognition and vibe that is attractive, Tampa a vibrant city and AAU status, there is a brand that can still be rebuilt. Just because the previous admin screwed up, doesn’t mean we stop trying to build it back up.
  14. For real, there is no way Stamford leaves Navy out. Also, we CANNOT be in the same conference as FAU, it weakens our brand while strengthening theirs; we’ve been there and done that. I would rather pay the exit fee just to get away from FAU!!
  15. You got me, haha. I seen your title and my heart jumped, I’m pathetic, I know.
  16. Agreed, I only see 6, 7 at most. Less teams, more money and room left for any ACC teams that may need a home. I think the PAC could sit at 10 for a year before grabbing a couple MWC teams.
  17. I wonder if the “new” PAC conference could get UCONN? I would prefer them over everyone on the east aside from Memphis. USF, UCONN, Memphis, Navy, Temple, and ECU would be a pretty decent East Division with Stanford, Cal, OSU, WSU, SDSU and AF would be a solid West Division.
  18. Haha, no, I agree with you, there’s way too much going on. I was just trying to simplify it. I think if I were Stanford and the misfit PAC leftovers, I would want to add 6-8 teams from the AAC, wait a year or whatever and go after SDSU, Air Force and 2 other teams to finish at 14-16 teams. I want nothing to do with FAU, UAB, Charlotte or North Texas
  19. I think the most reasonable is the 8 teams Stanford wants just pay the exit fee and leave, not complicated, PAC 12 just did the same thing.
  20. Funny, you sent your as I was typing the exact same thing, haha. Great minds!
  21. We get network TV exposure? I only catch games on ESPN+, but then again, I don’t have cable, I’m one of “those” people Travel costs for us would be mitigated to a trip to the Pacific once or twice a year for sports, remember, it’s only 4 PAC teams. AAC exit fee? We would pay that off in 2 years with the increased revenue of 15 mil/yr.
  22. For sure, I can see this being a real number, just based on Apple wanting CFB, they are a subscription (don’t have to worry about cord cutters, haha) and they poured stupid money into MLS. Like you, I am hoping for the best and this would be great.
  23. Could the schools want out, just leave and pay an exit fee? Seems like if they lost 8 schools, the AAC would be done anyways.
