  1. I know a kid or two on a football team in Florida and they have heard USF from the horses mouth. Ill leave it at that
  2. Ill be there. If we can play some defense we have a real shot in this one
  3. Other than you, who said that he would be our savior? He's a decent QB that has been in the "heat of the battle" against top ranked opponents. EDIT: He had offers from: Louisville, Pitt, USF, Stanford, and Arkansas. If he was good enough for us then, then why not now? You don't take a 1 yr transfer player unless they are going to be emphatically better than what you've got. I don't see Trickett as any better than Floyd. I'd rather play Floyd or White for a year to get them in the system then bring in a guy like Tricket for a one and done. IMO you only bring in a one and and done if they are a savior Based on what we have seen from floyd, and the fact that White is a freshman, I wouldn't rule out that Tricket is emphatically better. At least he has had success at some point in his college career. If he can come in and beat them out, theres no reason he shouldn't be accepted with open arms. Better team equals better recruits and more exposure at an important time.
  4. I don't think anyone here is saying he's a Heisman contender, but he is definitely better than Evald. Would also make it an easier decision to RS White. From what I can remember he played decent against OU when I was up there for the game. Click it or Trickett boys and girls!
  5. And then you also realize that he's recruiting kids to a school that was embarrassing on the field last year, the conference is imploding and we were going through a head coaching change during a pretty important part of the process. He doesn't need to improve his skills to get into the top 20 so much as USF needs to improve on the field.
  6. Righty on righty matchup. Would have likely brought Nevins back in to face the lefty on deck had that happened.
  7. Compared to what? College athletes 20 years ago? They weren't under a magnifying glass like guys today.
  8. +1 He can't carry the ball all 40 times each game. Yet you think Kemp could? Thats not a knock on Kemp, but not many backs can. Its going to be a multiback effort and mccray will play a role.
  9. This ^^^^^^ A more accurate way of looking at it is with your own eyes. Our kicker commit is a 2 star, yet everyone that has seen him play absolutely raves about him.
  10. I dont think K will be a problem. The kid we have committed from Miami is pretty solid.
  11. If you truly think Mike White is simply D2 depth then you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
  12. The Catcher position will be upgraded as well. I have seen Spivey play and she has a hell of a bat
  13. He doesn't solve them right away, but one thing worth going crazy over is the amount of potential. Recruiting is 40% how good you are, 60% how good you can be.
  14. Until the culture changes, nothing else will. My high school had more school spirit. Why? Because kids actually loved the school.
  15. Seems like his only fault was trusting USF's football program. There's so much crap involved with football recruiting, you can't blame him at all. They don't exactly have courses on it. Like you said, there is a ton of crap involved with this stuff. So yes, unfortunanely trusting ANY football program too much is a mistake. Its not like he lost his offer, he was simply told he wouldnt be at the top of their list. Who knows if Skip even had him pegged as a potential starter or mostly depth? Like an early poster mentioned, I do feel for the kid because of how this has gotten public and Im sure is becoming at least semi-embarrassing. At the same time, he is still going to be getting a pretty good education while playing the game he loves for free or at a significant discount so it isn't like his life is ending.
  16. blaming the kid huh? Why would you stop going to camps? I graduated 2 years ago with multiple good friends playing D1 ball. Ive been around the recruiting process, I know that anytime you have a chance to get your name out there and show coaches you can play, you take advantage of it. Sounds to me like this kid got the offer he wanted and became content. All coach T is saying is he isn't the top of their board and he would be smart trying to get PT somewhere else. As a parent, they should be grateful he did that instead of leading him on and then come Soph or Jr year realize he isn't sniffing the field.
