  1. We don't know. It takes a couple of years to develop. What? Did you think it would be overnight or a 1 year thing? This is the season we'll know how FL talent helps CWT.
  2. Feels like it has the past four years...little difference. Not going to get sucked in again. That being said, I will not be missing a game regardless of the record and will be chearing the team in each week (this includes road trips to Navy and UCONN). Got to beat Matyland and Cuse for me to get excited about making a bowl. I respect that... ride or die... If it happens, you will be there to see it first hand. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. Go Bulls
  3. I remember a guy that was a lowly three star committed to USF very early and never wavered. Other, bigger names committed and he never wavered. MGrote8 became the best USF QB ever, IMO. Take recruiting rankings with a grain of salt. If you look up the word "competitor" in the dictionary, here's what you'll find. Yeah... I guess Gaines isn't a competitor.... smh

Take recruiting rankings with a grain of salt. I take it with a grain of salt but Xavier Gaines is special talent. No way you can spin that. Everyone who's ever seen the kid play has said it. There is a reason he's so highly sought after. I think it's great the kid has stayed committed. I follow recruiting so I remember when he first committed. But Gaines is a different type of talent than what we've seen at USF. I mean we have Woulard now... but Gaines is just as good as Woulard and a far more polished prospect (elite 11 7 on 7 aside)...
  5. I think Flowers is poised to pull a mgrothe8... Everyone always says what he can't do and they forget what he can do. We got the lineup schedule wise and hopefully the boys are ready!
  6. This article will be funny once Xavier Gianes does what he's hinting he's going to do pretty soon, commit to USF... That guy is a big time four star everywhere baller who loves Taggart.
  7. You being excited has me excited. I'm balls deep #ALLIN ... #GOBULLS
  8. Everyone knows that... I'm not sure what you mean *reason. I think what Taggart is talking about is the talent level when he got here... which was ****** at best. I'm basing my judgement of Taggart this season... without a roster of Holtz guys and attitudes. Everyone is so busy trying to figure out how we got here, we're missing the most talented team we've had since 2010.
  9. We do have to get better. I personally think we are poised for a big season. I hope I'm right, I want to sport the new gear.
  10. USF will go as far as Flowers takes us. If he has developed a deep ball, we will go far.
  11. He's contributing a lot of opinion/insight so let's cut him a break, hmm? I don't understand what part of Sellular's post was negative towards Calibull ... ? Thanks bro. I was complementing him (Cali), Brad was just filling in for Trip last nite I guess. Au contrare, you will never see me critiquing like that .... I've got too much baggage of my own. I was hoping you would see the breadcrumbs. Apparently I need breadcrumbs the size of loaves theses days .... I mean I actually took it as a compliment. I think it is well known amongst those who've interacted with me that I'm ride or die USF... it also made me laugh because it was kinda true.
  12. Yeah... It's good to hear coach Hope is yelling and pressing those guys. Takes pressure to make a diamond. While I don't think our offensive line is poised to push the world around, they can make themselves a solid unit. They don't have to be special, just good enough to get it done. I'm sure coach Hope will pay off... I think he was a great acquisition.
  13. Haha.. I'm just hoping for 7-5 to 8-4. I'm Actually being realistic with my expectations. from this page to the football gods ears... or eyes...
  14. I feel like Flowers is right where he needs to be. He's getting comfortable. I think he's going to have a breakout season.
  15. every year except the year Shaw was the starter. He's had 2 rushers run for over 1800 yards... He has a pretty good history with backs and rides the hot hand. Taggart has 2 RBs currently on NFL rosters. Andrews and Rainy.
  16. He's contributing a lot of opinion/insight so let's cut him a break, hmm? It's all good. I've joined this board right before I moved to California. I've been on TOS for some time. I appreciate it, but I'm use to it. I take it all in for what it's worth. It's really all in fun. Bull Unite right? lol
  17. Actually... normally a usf baseball T... so yeah, you're kinda right.
  18. Just curious - are you the same Calibull from 247? I think that may be safe to assume given his diction. But what does that really matter? Given the size of our fan base there is plenty of overlap on basically all the site. yeah... I'm king of the ellipses for effect. lol Writing styles can be like fingerprints. Anyway, keep bringing the insight. Let's hope this team keeps getting better and starts climbing when it counts. You just got me do do something people were trying to get me to do since 2013... give my honest opinion of the team. Koodles Thanks for the write up. The silver lining to not having a lot of seniors is that we do retain a good amount of experience. I am a little worried about dline depth though, I hope we have enough of a rotation to keep our guys fresh. This receiving core could be really good, and if they take off we could have a great season. I think that as camp progresses there will be an optimism creep on the board and a lot of us will begin to sound ambivalent. That's true. The one thing I will say about the Dline is that if we'd taken a hit, losing both Hill and Calloway, I think it would have been worse than people think. As true DEs go, Lee and Hill are the two most experienced and developed guys. Lee is looking at a breakout season, each year he's gotten better. Hill is athletically a freak, I just think he got lost in that 3-4 defense last season. In the hybrid position, look for some names to start popping up. Like Jackson and Bayes. I know who the starters are right now... but I can see those two being in the rotation along withe Whitehurst and Brown. Aslo Kevin Bronson will move inside out... The Defense has a lot of packages along the front depending on the personnel of the team we're playing. That's something we've honestly missed since 2009. I know one of the young guys like Bronson, Mayes, Gonzalez, Bays, Jackson, etc will make a move and likely shine, but honestly I don't know who. I'm basing it on teams past under CJL where someone always stuck. Always that one guy nobody saw. Like Selvie... But I sit with you in concern about the depth of the Dline. Until they play I don't think we really will know. I do think it will be one of the better defenses we've had since 2010. I worry more about QB depth
  19. I think Mack caught on to the college game and system last season faster than Johnson. One thing I think everyone has to remember is Johnson is really really good. I mean the separation between the two talent wise is not that big. He's a different type of runner than Mack is though. He's also a really good receiver and blocker, as we found out later in the season last year. Do I think he's capable of beating out Mack? Yes. Do I think he will? No. Sometimes it's first come first serve. But I can see a situation where if an injury occurs, because we know they do, where he could take the job and keep it. He is really good.

  21. To be honest, last season I knew we'd suck. I just didn't want people to give up on the team. My roommate, who's on the board, always laughed about my board predictions. It was good fun but even last season I got disgusted for a minute. I'd always thought this would be the season we turned it around. I mean to be honest the year we lost to McNeese State I punched a hole in the wall. But I kinda knew we sucked when Floyd was the QB and our Dline was way undersized. Oline too. I mean I knew what was wrong with the team... but last season I didn't think it was because they sucked talent wise, I just think they were young and the veteran guys on the team weren't really the leaders they needed to be... Seriously, Williams was starting at left tackle. What I was wrong about was Mike White. I did think he'd develop better than he actually did. I big time missed that but I also thought the Quinton Flowers would be the QB of the future for us. It's why I defended the kid. The people from the board know I've had a chance to talk to his uncle and I've actually met the kid. I've seen him throw... that kid is the real deal. So honestly why do I think this year will be better? O.K... I'll give my assessment 1) I think the defense will be a lot better than last season given the new scheme and the maturity of the guys playing. This is the first year we're not looking to incoming freshmen to start on defense. These guys have some experience and I think Lee and Hill will cause havoc this season. They both started to play well at the end of last season and Lee had a great spring. He's coming along really good and though Hill missed the spring, he's going to be in the mix. I like the DTs and I like the way Kevin Bronson looked in the spring... he's big, fast, and long. Also the kid has freakish strength. I think Senat, Hector, and Hamilton fill form a formidable force in the middle. I know Calloway was lost but the work that Hamilton and Senat put in seems to have been ignored. Senat is a guy to watch. I think he's better than Chandler right now and now there won't be tons of double teams, watch that guy. Our LBs are all a year older and wiser. I think this is the biggest group of LBs we've had since 2009 or something. Also it's no secret the secondary will likely be the strength of the defense... and it is good... very good. Off note a little, look for Mazzi Wilkens to eventually take that corner spot from Ward. He's a better player. 2)The offense should be much better. I think moving Brynar to center was genius. I'm not sure who's idea it was, but it allows you two most experienced OLinemen to control the flow of the center of the line. Hall will start at the other guard likely opposite Thor. I think the line will struggle some early but the beauty of having a guy like Flowers is, he can make a bad play into a positive play with his legs and athletic ability. Not a lot of people can do that... that's why Nebraska was on him so hard also. We got spoiled with the legs of Matt and BJ... I mean White had bricks in his shoes... So I think he'll be able to hide some of the lines mistakes. I also think he'll make mistakes too. I mean it'll be his first season as the guy... and he's young. But I also don't have to tell anyone that we likely have the best three deep and RB in the conference. I think the read option and the spacing created running the spread suits what we do. The offense will hit on a lot of plays this season. I don't doubt it. I think Legree had a solid spring and will have a good year. I think Adams will take that next step... I like Bronson and Clearvuex... I think McCants will be in the mix if he can stay healthy. But there is something on our offense that is special. 1 guy. He will likely return kickoffs and punts... until he plays so lights out he pushes his way into the lineup... Chris Barr. Remember that name... rare speed and ability. I just think in general this team is significantly better than last year. I think they're better coached, better prepared at this point coming in, more experienced, really talented, and while I don't think they'll do something crazy like win 10 games, I'm honestly looking at a 7-5 or 8-4 season. I know just as much about the teams we play as I do our own... and trust me when I say there are some teams getting a pass off reputation only. I honestly think this team can upset a few teams... because every win at this point will be an upset of someone... except famu
