  1. For the most part, that's pretty accurate. They still have to be able to recognize and develop talent as they generally determine the 2-deep for each position group. Depending on the HC background, you will usually see one side of the ball made up of coaches specialized in recruiting due to pride and time limitations (recruiting and developing younger players vs creating a game plan). With that said, there still needs to be a sense of organization so I wouldn't expect King to be bouncing back and forth between RBs during practice too much. More so pre/post practice while being with Gilbert in meetings
  2. I would imagine Gilberts role as "QB Coach" has more to do with the mental side of running this offense regarding reads, protections, audibles etc. King will likely still play a large role in working with QF in terms of physical fundamentals. RB coach is generally regarded as the easier of the position coaches, leaving him plenty of time pre/post practice to work with QF while installing the run game. Keeping King was huge for various reasons, but for me the biggest thing outside of what's already been mentioned is having a guy that's well respected with a high football IQ who watched this offense ran effectively this season. I'd imagine Gilbert will be bouncing ideas off him about what worked and didn't work last year.
  3. There's one at Boise, and I believe North Texas. I could be wrong but I thought the Las Vegas bowl was also at UNLVs home stadium. Unsure if that's an OCS or not. I believe most teams would love to play anywhere in Florida, not to mention a real football stadium over the trop. There's plenty of selling points to consider it plausible.
  4. I can agree with most of that. But let's not forget, a 3 and out on their side of the ball also allows you to rest up and get some....water. How many of those did we force this year? I'd assume single digits.
  5. That had less to do with rest and more to do with scheme and toughness. We scored fast on Navy the week after and look what happened.
  6. This. Not just some of it, all of it. Build partnerships, extend outreach and increase engagement. Although I think a pre game concert of sorts would work better than post.
  7. This. Not just some of it, all of it. Build partnerships, extend outreach and increase engagement.
  8. Every coach, at least the really good ones, believe they are the ones that can beat Saban. No matter how ignorant it might actually be
  9. I doubt he just accepts the job with the optimism LSU will be better. More like, you want/need me more than I need you. Get your boosters in line and I'll consider it.
  10. It's not as simple as them not caring about him. Something about his kid being in the hospital and the boosters basically telling him they didn't care about his kid that he needed to be at a booster banquet. That's classic FSU. Conference doesn't set your morals Even so, it was more of a response to why he may be looking elsewhere or at least entertaining the possibility.
  11. I've been hearing speculation about Jimbo not liking the boosters for well over a year. Something along the lines of them treating him and his family like crap
  12. Not happening. If they were to go G5 coach it would be Fleck. More likely scenario is Jimbo leaves, Fedora or someone like that goes to FSU and CWT moves to that job.
  13. I wouldn't be so sure he's done being a cooridnator. There aren't many coaches that permanently graduate from the coordinator role. And let's say he agrees he needs to get back in the state of Florida, where is his next job? (Assuming he doesn't take a year off).
  14. That might be rougher, but roughest were the fans that actually got in the Sun Dome
  15. Especially since Donnel Pumphrey is listed as #2 on the heisman watch....
  16. I think many view Mack as a 3rd down type back, which would be right in line with that 5th-6th round grade. Pomphrey would be a good indicator having that "small school" bias. No matter the ridiculous numbers and big plays, most teams will prefer the Elijah Hood and Alvin Kamaras of the world. Adams will most definitely get drafted after the combine. He should run somewhere in the low 4.4's, adequate size and very solid production. To me he's a similar prospect as Stacy Coley and a good NFL comp would be Travis benjamin.
  17. Depending on who comes out, I just don't see him going until round 5. Just too many good backs in this class.
  18. Why. This is why I don't trust that Willie is a legit P5 coach
  19. Willie. I love ya man, but they aren't going to let that screen beat them anymore. Pump and go please
  20. We went from Bullshark to whaleshark in a matter of months. We haven't had a guy in the flats in all game
  21. As long as Raymond Woodie continues to recruit these outstanding 3* recruits
