  1. I'd have to put USF ahead of UCF if we get past Maryland this week. But it wouldn't be by much (depending on the amount of the win).
  2. My Week 1 AAC rankings... 1 - Cincinnati 2 - East Carolina 3 - Central Florida 4 - Temple 5 - Memphis 6 - Houston 7 - South Florida 8 - Uconn 9 - Southern Methodist 10 - Tulsa 11 - Tulane After Temple it got really hard to rank. The bottom half looked terrible this week. Not a good start for the AAC.
  3. I'm supporting Coach 100%. If this is what he feels needs to be done to motivate our guys and to make them play as a unit, then I'm going to trust him. If we aren't going to be in one of the "Big 5" conferences this year, we need to do different things to make us stand out. If we win, Coach will be all over College Gameday and people will be eating crow all day. If we lose, we'll, we sucked last year.
  4. "Reportedly"? has a USF offer? Did "Reliable Sources " tell you that? Google the kids name and type in "offer". High level investigative work.
  5. Has a USF offer (reportedly) and also reports one from Maryland.
  6. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/evaluation/_/id/169294/luis-santos 4 star ESPN recruit, 6th best player in NYC, and 27th best power forward in the country. Great commit!
  7. http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/07/08/report-memphis-football-player-attacked-dominic-woodson-advisor/ Report: Memphis football player attacked Dominic Woodson, advisor Rob Dauster Jul 8, 2014, 3:51 PM EDT 5 Comments Getty Images Memphis center Dominic Woodson was involved in a physical altercation with a football player in which the football player was the aggressor, assaulting one of the Memphis academic advisors and throwing Woodson to the ground, according to a report from the Memphis Commercial-Appeal. The paper obtained a copy of the police report. Robert Davis, a 5-foot-8 redshirt freshman running back, was the football player involved in the incident, which was the result of a dispute over a girl. Here’s how the Commercial-Appeal described the incident: Woodson and Davis were involved in a verbal disagreement — over a female, a source told The CA last week — that became physical after Davis grabbed U of M Associate Director of Athletic Academics Kristin Williams and “shoved her to the floor†to get to Woodson. The 5-8, 170-pound Davis then lunged at Woodson, according to the report, and took the 6-10, 290-pound forward to the ground, resulting in “minor sheet rock damage to the walls in the area as a result of the assault.†Memphis head coach Josh Pastner has not said whether or not Woodson will be punished for this incident, and if Davis was the aggressor, Woodson may be off the hook. The problem is that Woodson’s mouth has gotten him into trouble before. He was kicked off the bench during a game against Central Florida last season and suspended for three games for cursing. Woodson was also suspended for the Tiger’s trip to Raleigh for the NCAA tournament and was ejected from a win over Gonzaga for this flagrant foul.
  8. Danny thomas â€@boy_igotsomany 17m I have decommited from Ecu an commited to Usf .... Go #bulls
  9. Sounds like a bone being thrown USF's way to Taggart for positive press. Nothing more.
  10. From Twitter today: JOC USF4 @JocEllison · 2h Prep school then USF in December god has truly blessed me # For what it's worth, I watched him play at the IMG National 7 on 7 last summer and was really impressed. He has great hands and is super quick. A little light, but think that he could be a great addition to our WR core. Would be awesome on screens, quick outs, and inside slants. Great add in my opinion. I think that other schools stayed away because of grades.
  11. Kean threw for nearly 3,000 yards last season and had 43 total touchdowns for the Eagles.
  12. I figured that he wasn't coming here once Canty decommitted.
  13. 1. Jamie Byrd 2. Demetrius Hill 3. LeGrande Harley 4. Marlon Mack 5. Tyre McCants
  14. Uggh....... "Luck's plan, which also had the support of Louisville athletic Tom Jurich, was also to add UCF for a 12-team Big East divided into two divisions: West: Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, TCU and Louisville; East: UConn, Cincinnati, Rutgers, West Virginia, South Florida and UCF." "I remember thinking: 'That's not a bad conference,'" Luck said. "And we would have kept the affiliation with the (Big East) basketball schools, because they loved the addition of Kansas. They (the Big 12 schools) also liked it. They were nervous as hell, too. We had a series of phone calls. That was sort of our best option." http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11066269/big-12-ads-say-no-discussions-expansion
  15. I just wish that decisions would be made already. Just have all the Big 5 teams play their 9 game schedules in conference and fill the rest of their schedules with other Big 5 schools. Break off to their own 60 team division. Have their own Top 20 rankings, etc. Then we can move on with a clear path. Being part of a 60 team lower division with our own Top 20. With our marquee out of conference games being BYU, Boise State, and San Diego State. I don't like it, but it would at least provide clarity. We could recruit against the other 60 teams in our division and would always be a top 5 team from a recruiting standpoint by getting the best of the 2nd tier talent. The question is: Is there any money in this plan? Most of the really low conferences on the spectrum fund their annual revenue by taking a million dollar game vs FSU. I think that about 20 schools would not be able to survive. So we'd then be down to 40 teams in the lower division. Would there be a TV market for this 2nd tier division? There are so big media markets (Orlando, Dallas, Tampa, San Diego, Las Vegas, Cincy) but would there be viewers ?
  16. I do like the thought of having demotions like the English Soccer League based on yearly performance, but with scheduling it's just not possible. Plus, the money is too big. You can't drop Clemson if they have a bad year and promote ECU because they have a great year. The money is just too big for those schools, they would never allow it. I think we are screwed.
  17. Saban wants the "Big 5" to ONLY play games against other "Big 5". Just great. http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/95173/saban-is-onto-something-with-scheduling Will we eventually be playing a totally separate national championship for the 6 conferences that are not in the Big 5? And if so, won't it just be a Top 20 of MWC, AAC, and some MAC teams with the rankings looking something like this by 2017: 1) Cincy 2) BYU 3) Boise State 4) USF 5) UCF 6) UConn 7) Houston 8) SMU 8) Northern Illinois 9) Fresno State 10) Utah State 11) Marshall etc
  18. So if the "Big 5" conferences are moving towards playing 8-9 games in conference and then at least one game against other "Big 5" conference teams, where does that leave the AAC. Seems to me that there is NO WAY that a team like Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Texas Tech, etc is going to want to also play a potentially tough AAC opponent when the already are committed to 9 tough games. They will be scheduling easy money games like Georgia State and UTSA. I'm afraid that we will need to start filling up our out of conference games with the likes of Southern Miss, FAU, FIU, UAB etc. And forget about any good home games against Big 5 teams when they can buy us out for $250,000.
  19. Listen, I love USF, but this will be another tough year. In fact, this team looks to be much worse on paper than last year's team, which wasn't pretty. I think that we have to hang our hats on that Orlando is building this team for 2016-2017. We will have a lot of experienced Juniors at that point and he should also be able to find some strong Freshman and Sophomores by that point. But I think it's fair to expect a losing conference record for the next two seasons. Go Bulls!

  21. Let's be honest. If you are Vandy and only have 1 week till signing day your plan is: 1) Retain existing commits 2) Identify local talent that isn't yet committed from Tennessee and Kentucky 3) Vet all top uncommitted recruits everywhere (ie. Kevin Bronson, Denzel Ward) 4) Look at the recruits committed to AAC schools and see who is poachable. (ie, USF, UCF, Cincy, Houston, etc) Derek Mason has a tough week ahead.
  22. I will literally eat my shoe if Litton signs here. That would be a reversal of tides of epic proportions. Think he will walk on at UF or sign with a school like Toledo.
