    If I had to guess, it's because it's not a mirror and you can actually see the logo and helmet. It's also not a fad like chrome, which dates it to exactly the last couple of years.

    Unless it was the 2008 St. Petersburg / Magic Jack bowl in the trop with the single green stripe, not sure. I think we also had those a year or so after until they added the 3 stripes on the helmet (which was also a great look). I didn't think those original ones were black iconic U though.

    I wouldn't say everything is fake, I would just say we can only perceive reality through our filters. There's no way of me knowing if my perception is accurate. Pretty wild!
