  1. I just don't watch the tape and move on with the better things in life.
  2. I do think there is some precedent to support your hypothesis. Maybe we simply haven't properly cultivated right brain/left brain coordination. Might be fun to try.
  3. Looking for a sports bar that will promise not to serve our table beer or show the Bulls or the Rays. Asking for a friend in AA (Athletics Anonymous).
  4. Won't be standing under that limb. That cracking sound will be too late for me to move out of the way. Some of our coaches may have a plan to climb out there with you.
  5. So, you think the curse began when we ignored John Allen's prophetic advice? When USF was founded in 1956, the original plans for the campus included a site for a football stadium at the intersection of Fowler Avenue and 30th Street, now Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. But USF’s first president, John Allen, said no to football and was generally anti-athletics. USF’s first intercollegiate program, men’s soccer, grudgingly debuted in 1965. --Joey Johnston, USF Magazine
  6. There were times and there are places where this is true.
  7. I would and not scared about getting up and drinking at odd hours Breakfast of champions? I'm there.
  8. Or perhaps as a special consultant to negotiate our way in to a P2 conference.
  9. And somewhere to quietly contemplate our place in the athletics universe.
  10. Didn't get a watch party invite this time from Charlotte alumni chapter. Not sure if they have just given up.
  11. As all loyal Bulls fans, we have to applaud the effort.
  12. Or perhaps we can have an all-Jimmy board where we can all escape the cynical commentary, dreaming that he never left and that USF is now in it's rightful place at the pinnacle of college athletics. Talk about your fantasy football.
  13. Losing looks and feels so much better when you're doing it in a shiny new facility.
  14. Is it the curse? Who could have guessed things might not go as well at USF.
  15. That is true. I was at that 2012 game in the suite with Doug Woolard. That was when I knew it was over for Skip.
  16. My diagnosis would be the firing of staff who passionately devoted themselves to building the program the right way and the disrespect of alumni and other supporters who also gave of themselves just as passionately. Oh, and a whole bunch of administrators, players and coaches who left a lot to be desired.
  17. I spent last weekend watching the FSU vs. Wake game from the suite of a friend who, like me, has USF and FSU ties. When the USF halftime score came across, we pretty much decided that the Bulls have given us a pass to not watch for the rest of the year. FSU lost as well but were at least in the game. And the catering made it all somehow a bit easier to swallow....
  18. I expect common decency and not to be treated solely as $$$. Yes, I do have those kinds of wild expectations.
  19. Wasn't sure what this thread was about but the topic caption reminded me of when I was on the staff of The Oracle back in the late 1970s and satellite receivers were kind of a new thing. USF erected one of those really big satellite receiving dishes near the parking lot at the Admin Building. Someone wrote in a letter to the editor questioning the safety of that and said, "What if one of those satellites comes in and misses the receiving dish." It was either one of the dumbest or most clever questions I ever heard. Either way, a hoot.
  20. Wishing the best to everyone. All my family in Tampa Bay area fared pretty well but friends in Fort Myers area were devastated. Alive and safe but homes destroyed. Making plans on how to help them out.
  21. I believe it's not so many donors who are asking "what can USF do for me" as there are asking "how much more can USF do to me". Many of us put our bucks, sweat and tears to support athletics for years only to be treated pretty shabbily in recent years. This, coupled with the ongoing less-than-mediocre performance has discourage more than a few to turn ambivalent.
