All three coaches hung out with the students at BBall games. Leavitt even painted himself up like a Beefy one time. Holtz had plenty of love for the students, and honestly, I never saw him avoid those situations. I am glad to see Coach T there as well.
This does not make any of them great coaches, or bad coaches. I do not believe they were there because they had to be, though I can imagine all of them also wanted to be somewhere else too; most likely the office working on tape or recruiting or whatever Head coaches do endlessly.
Slick, I am with you, don't bash Holtz anymore, it is over. He never stepped foot on campus one day and thought "how can I screw up the program today". Leavitt never walked out of his house thinking "how can I cause chaos today". Coach Taggert will have bad days, let's hope he has more good ones, and retires loved, with winning records, and lots of success for him and OUR school.
