  1. Well at the beginning of the season we outranked Florida but due to our performance the past couple weeks they had jumped over us. No worries though we have a chance to over take them soon especially since we play them I believe next week. Yes the Cajuns are that good. I saw them play last year in a tournament in Clearwater and they have power and speed. A very dominant team and I believe they were young as well, so they should have quite a few returning starters. The game against ULL this weekend will be an interesting test especially against another big time team in softball. As for the bull horns I have no idea. The hand symbol appears to be the common I love you sign not the bulls sign. So I am guessing it is a U for University and L for Louisiana? So if that is "love you" what is the brunette at the back flashing "give me you penis"????
  2. It wouldn't be USF if my heart rate did not jump whenever I see Green and Gold flash on ESPN or hear any mention of my alma-mater in a broadcast. It would not be USF if I did not watch NFL games of teams I hate just to see my old players on Sunday. It would not be USF if I did not plan my falls around a football schedule. lastly, it would not be USF if I did not start most Monday morning conversations with "yeah, but we almost....." (just slightly negative there)
  3. Or he was told that UM was about to get **** slapped by the NCAA again.....
  4. Another two losses since I started this, and the performance on the hardwood is just reinforcing the thoughts that we may have the wrong guy at the whiteboard. Our shooting is abysmal. Watching the L'ville game Sunday, we could not hit consistently in warm ups. What is wrong with these guys? I have always had a philosophy with sports, football and basketball in particular. The first half belongs to the players, the second half belongs to the coaches. Here is why. You have all week to prepare for a game. You get the team set, design plays, schemes, watch tape etc. You have the time to set up for your opponent for days. the first half comes down to executing that game plan. At that point the players have to be in their assignments, be mentally in the game, and execute. The goal is to win the first half with your game plan and put the other team off theirs. The second half is the coaches. They need to go into the locker room and make the strategic changes based on the first half. This is where they earn their money, being able to make adjustments to players, getting them back on the plan, or changing up based on what the other team is doing. They need to motivate the guys to hold a lead or get the lead, and they need to out think the other coach and anticipate what they will change. Stan has not been able to do this effectively. So many games we have been ahead or close at half, hell, just look at this past week two good first halves, then the second half we lose it. We fail to change up what we do, fail to adjust. This is coaching. At this point, play the kids, get Jordan out there to learn the speed of BE BBall. he actually had some movement and game in the few minutes he played lately. Get Rudd back on his game, if that means benching him everytime he steps BACK to show off his NBA 3-pointer. Figure out a new way for Collins to play, it is known now, successful coaches have it schemed. Lastly, get the bench healthy, I know having Noreiga out is a killer.
  5. How often are you on other websites etc. for other athletic depts? Just saying..... I would have hoped the school had planned far enough in advance to get these plaques and have checked them first, which did not happen.
  6. No, go back, this was also something we "loved" about Skip. Helmet to the front left of your square for warmups, everyone in the same clothes, sideline attendees in team shirt and black shorts. I like the discipline, do not get me wrong, but Skip brought this discipline and it was needed.
  7. Well, look at it this way. It cannot be the sundome floor, other teams can score there. What has changed? the practice facility. The beginning of the year we played better offense, the guys had not practiced as much in the Muma so their game was not adjusted. Now they have practiced in there daily for months, we cannot hit the rim, we step out of bounds, etc. at this level, if the court is painted one inch too long, or the rim is 1/2 too low it could screw us up completely. NO I AM NOT SERIOUS... Transfer to UCF and raise the collective GPA at both schools....
  8. The solution is to dissolve college football as an association with schools. Create a minor league system to the NFL where if they wish to associate with a local university they can do so. I.E. the Tampa Bay Bucs create a USF Bulls minor league franchise. Basically then, you will have the SEC teams, that are not in pro sports markets anyway, as feeders to the NFL, all the FCS teams, and about 90% of the FBS teams would be disbanded. Parity between mens and womens sports, no pressure on the schools for OCS, etc. and no national signing day that creates press conferences so we can find out what some 17 year old ego wants to play...
  9. No less so than the Durham Bulls or Tampa Tarpons... Tampa Tarpons???? We DO pay players the same since they no longer exist. However, here is the difference. Minor league baseball players are drafted from high school and sign a contract to play for a pro team. They elect to become a professional athlete. Basketball players elect to go pro or go to college. Football is a little different, they are barred from going to the NFL out of high school, but they could elect to play in a foreign league for money.
  10. yeah, our golf team averages 82, MBb 36.. not what you meant?
  11. If so, run over to the Muma center and check the dimensions. I have a feeling when we built the new BBall practice facilities they screwed up and did not put in regulation hoops.....That is why we cannot score.
  12. But we do not take advantage of this. We back off on defense. It pisses me off I watch our guys get bumped back by offense all game long. Not one will stand his ground.
  13. I still go back to my initial post, which was where was all the fan angst? You do not care that we are the laughing stock of the big east in our two major sports now? When are we allowed to have this conversation?
  14. Here or there? Heath's conf records: Arkansas 4-12 4-12 6-10 10-6 7-9 USF 3-15 4-14 9-9 3-15 12-6 1-9 Only 2 winning conf seasons out of 11. Bad season here and there? What do we care what he did at Arkansas, you imbecile? We can't fire him for that. He'll have had 2 bad seasons out of the last 4 HERE, wrapped around 2 of the best in the history of the program. That would be the "here and there" ... how about 4 bad in last 6. I would contend last year was not coaching but the players. A coach makes a mediocre team good, and a good team better. Heath is making a mediocre team a joke. More importantly, he is making my school a joke. he was Coach of the Year, and now his team is shooting under 30% FG.... In pior year we played a sufficating defense that allowed us to win with 45-50 points, now we score 40 but cannot hold the other team down. I understand not having men under the basket for offensive rebounds when you are scoring. Any public rec. league coach would have his team fight for offensive rebounds in this situation. We are fishing in the desert right now, not able to put anything in the net.... have your guys stay home and get a second shot. Protecting the transition with 4 back does not work.
  15. Brock should get up and bust that **** in the mouth. sure he will take a suspension but it might put some life in the team down the stretch. we suck... Heath should hold open try outs from the outdoor courts. I am sure we can find 10 guys there that would score at least 10 FGs...Nova is not that good.
  16. Exactly! This academic committee is an absolute joke. They obviously don't know their own university well considering we could've hooked that kid up with a degree in phys ed with a "tutor" to drive his but to class. Easily would've kept his grades up. If he can play at Oregon, he could've played here. That group, whoever they are, really pisses me off more times than not. These guys aren't "students", they are entertainers. As for the discussion at hand. I was all for firing Heath, but when the man got us TWO wins in the tourney, that bought him a few seasons. If we suck like this every season for the next 2-3 after we were in the dance, then you fire him bc no way you could win two games in the dance and not be able to recruit a decent class or two that can actually produce. Yeah, why should a university concern themselves with academics? Preposterous! Besides, remember this academic board was created because our teams' were so far below NCAA standards they were going to take away scholarships. Now we are considered one of the most improved academically. As frustrating as it is, put this blame on the HS coaches and parents, and media that do not get these stars in the classroom to qualify. We just had national signing day where all these kids learn they own the rest of the world (in their minds). It is ridiculous that a HS kid gets a press conference to announce their college selection.
  17. Here or there? Heath's conf records: Arkansas 4-12 4-12 6-10 10-6 7-9 USF 3-15 4-14 9-9 3-15 12-6 1-9 Only 2 winning conf seasons out of 11. Bad season here and there? My point is numbers....
  18. I did not criticize Woolard, I said why are we not talking about it NOW. Obviously I was high on the team, I bought season tickets for this season, I WANT the team to win, and I like Heath. However, his body of work and the team's cellar position (again) would dictate the conversation. Is Heath getting a pass this year when the fact is we have a horrible playing team? We do not play a penetrating game, we do not seem to push in. Fitzgerald has the size to muscle yet he backs off. where is the coaching?
  19. You are right there. I know he is not getting fired, saying though that should be a discussion. It was two years ago and we got results. Now, you have say how much was Heath and how much was the talent we lost. I know also Noreiga hurt is a killer, but we have to be the only BE team that will not penetrate. We never get inside and try to live our life outside the paint. It is just painful to watch. It is a shame to see $35M go to waste on the guys. Need to go to see the women more...
  20. High school tape does not usually impress me. I mean, they will move from that tape to playing only the best 10% of the guys in that tape. sort of like stocks "past performance is not an indication of future results". Sorry, guess I am bitter about the basketball team and taking it out on everyone tonight.
  21. All well and good, but until this turns into W's and we are at least #3 in what is left of the Big East I am not getting excited.
  22. This ^^^^^^ A more accurate way of looking at it is with your own eyes. Our kicker commit is a 2 star, yet everyone that has seen him play absolutely raves about him. According to some post he has the same range as Gramatica. Not worried about the stars. I just want to have a field goal option again. Go Bulls Again????? When did we really lose it? OK, the Gramitca's length not withstanding we have had a strong percentage.
  23. And don't give me crap about how we made the dance last year. This team is a joke this year. I have NEVER seen a team with shooting this bad. I think we could go to the outside courts and find guys that will shoot better. At least drive the basket. I have season tickets, and just cry game after game after Big East loss. Trying to figure out why the board is so silent on Heath when they wanted to Kill Holtz for the same results.
  24. Nobody has seen him play, biggest waste of a scholarship ever. I have never seen a guy so lost on the court. 7'3" and cannot rebound, cannot get the ball, cannot shoot inside, and the rest of the team plays keep away.
  25. Stuben, miss you man, you were a great rep for me for years.....
