  1. Fair enough, and I agree, but ... Why would Florida JC credits be acceptable to Oregon and not to a Florida institution such as USF? I can't answer that. I can tell you that Oregon had one of the lowest APRs in college basketball a couple years ago. we talked about this a few months ago.....he didn't get into USF because he had a 2.4 gpa and DIDNT go to one colleges listed below. if a transfer student goes to one of these institutions, usf only requires a 2.0 gpa to be admitted. THIS CONSORTIUM AGREEMENT IS THE DUMBEST THING IVE EVER HEARD OF, and by us signing it we have severely limited ourselves with incoming transfer athletes. *per the Consortium Agreement entered into by USF, Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College and Pasco Hernando Community College. Here's USF's admission requirements for transfer students with an AA/AS. " To be considered for admission, all transfer applicants are required to have successfully completed a minimum of 67 percent of all credit hours attempted at currently and previously enrolled institutions. In addition, a minimum GPA of 2.50 is required. Exceptions include: Upper-level applicants with an AA/AS degree from Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College or Pasco Hernando Community College. Applicants from these schools must have a minimum GPA of 2.00* Students with an AA/AS degree from a Florida System College who intend to major in Public Health, General Studies or Information Science. These students must have a minimum GPA of 2.00.
  2. My sentiments exactly, you have to teach the fundamentals of rebounding. And like I said, I knew losing Ron would be a huge hill to climb for us.
  3. THIS POST IS A LITTLE ALL OVER THE PLACE, BUT YOU GET THE GIST, I NEEDED A GOOD VENT. vic rudd needs to give effort more consistently, on both ends of the court. how can he NOT get hyped up for a conference home game in front of a big crowd? i don't get it. to me, the worst part of the Nova game was the lost art of the "box out". i know were not going to be as big as most teams we play from here on, but we HAVE to least stick to the fundamentals of boxing out your man when rebounding. in addition, were completely wasting a scholarship on Jordan whatever his last name is. hes a complete liability. 7'3", but cant run, jump, shoot, rebound, or defend. hes just TOO big, if that even is such a thing. when your games are as lopsided as they've been recently in the rebounding department, and your 7'3" center is on the bench, that should tell you anything you need to know about how much faith our staff has in his skill set. and i completely agree with our offense needing to play with more urgency. we don't have the bigs on D we had last year to be able to survive with the same type of offense. with ron anderson down low, we could bang with any ugly, now, not so much. Waverly Austin was going to be our only option down low...now, thanks to our Harvard like academic committee we have NONE. it doesn't seem we have anyone with a mid-range jumper (with the exception of an AC floater in the paint). too many possessions end up in a 3 pointer or a drive to the basket with an ugly shot attempt. this wont win games. ill still fully support our team by attending every home game, but at this point, i fear we'll be lucky to make it to the NIT.
  4. Usf is really erecting quite the staff. First a Willie and now a Weiner! Throw a coach Testies in there for all I care, as long as we win.
  5. 60% Orange / 40% Bulls no way...it was more like 60% bulls fans. they had a lot there, but definitely didnt outnumber us. im glad to see the dome full either way though.
  6. Do u guys not remember all the stupid turnovers Nash constantly had when he was in the game? I literally cringed any time I saw him get up off the bench. he was awful. Martino is more than serviceable as backup, and a much better ball handler than Nash ever was. and its up to the coaching staff to help the offense adjust when ac is getting a breather and brock is in.
  7. im not comparing his decision making to what you or i would do under center, im comparing his decision making to those quarterbacks who actually know how to throw the ball away before scrambling around and taking a 10 yard loss on a sack.
  8. athletic freak, just a poor decision maker and innaccurate. it wasn't his fault that he was our best qb option, it was our staffs for not bringing in a decent qb recruit the last few years to challenge him. with that being said, ive questioned all aspects of his game at certain points, but his heart is one thing ive never questioned.
  9. ET I don't want to be a Debbie Downer again, but 2013 is gonna blow... Skip left the cupboard bare and appears to have only recruited CUSA level talent to replace the 20 seniors that left. CWT has his work cut out for him in 2013. maybe going into 2013 thinking that will help it sting that much less if it actually happens....versus 2012 where we had visions of a big east championship and instead got donkey punched by skippy and a 3-9 season.
  10. i got an email from scout.com last night that Jo Jo Kemp had recommitted to us, it was listed as a soft verbal for now, but thats a lot better than he being completely DEcomitted.
  11. Saw Christian fauria and a few others also mention holtz as being on the hot seat on the show The Experts on ESPN U last night.
  12. Do they sell team jerseys at the bookstore? I'm not a big jersey guy, but might have to make an exception here.
  13. yeah i saw that picture of the two guys wearing the bags at the game on tbo.com. i for one booed skip loudly as he exited the tunnel, and we made eye contact for a second...i feel like we had a moment.
  14. maybe the other 2 thousand people were at the girls volleyball game.
  15. "he extended the contract of football coach Skip Holtz last summer, even after a 5-7 bowl-less season, because he felt it was "important to maintain the stability and continuity of leadership in our football program'' after Holtz had been pursued by other schools." yeah, because it would've been TERRIBLE if another school would have poached our coach that led us to a bowl less 5-7 season. with as much skill talent as we have compared to other teams in our conference, we should NEVER have a sub .500 season....and our conference record last year speaks for itself. maybe once our higher end recruits start backing out of committments, which will happen, woolard will finally open his **** eyes! either that, or judy needs to open his eyes for him.
  16. i was thinking more like beauty and the beast where gaston is leading the villagers with pitchforks and torches to "kill the beast!"
  17. Not sure if this has been discussed, but are the end zones and 50 yard line going to be painted sat night? Nationally televised game on espn, but the suckaneers have a home game the following day.
  18. burnhams pretty old....does he have a son that coaches defense?
  19. why dont some of us just call in to the radio show this week, that would be entertaining for sure. my comment would be "why do you suck so bad? you make baby jesus cry."
  20. makes sense now....i thought it sounded weird when i heard the defensive line was doing krispy kreme curls while wearing leotards this spring.
  21. im ok with the older alumni looking at it this way, and i understand your point. unfortunately for us young whippersnappers, weve never had to drive anywhere but tampa, so its hard to empathize with you.
  22. this is actually realistic, sadly no changes will be made...and if they are, it wont be until the season ends.
  23. how bout a sign with a picture of doug and skip both holding telephones, saying "no i love YOU more....no i love YOU more."
