  1. The thing is, the big names were coming after us. Butch Davis REALLY wanted this job. He even did an interview today with Auman explaining what an awesome opportunity he saw this as. Houston Nutt was really pushing to get this job. Tommy Bowden, etc. etc. etc. Taggart was the guy all along. He just makes too much sense. I don't think they ever seriously considered anyone but him.
  2. http://www2.tbo.com/news/usf-bulls/2012/dec/04/spsporto1-willie-taggart-among-hot-names-mentioned-ar-579143/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+tbo%2Fbulls+%28TBO+%3E+Bulls%29
  3. That is too funny. My 2.5 year old son says the same thing. "Daddy are we going to the Go Bulls game?" "Daddy can I wear my Go Bulls shirt?" etc. Kids are funny
  4. Wow. I can't believe that. Why would a fan say something like that to arguably our most important recruit in school history? There is not a BCS level QB on this roster. We need him desperately. People are freaking clueless.
  5. Someone is on Doug Woolard? One of your friend's father is Doug Woolard's lover? Holy crap, now THAT is breaking news!
  6. I grew up in Maryland. Baltimore and DC are 2 distinct markets despite only being 30 miles apart. They have different local TV networks, cable providers, etc. Baltimore by itself is a small market. I think its ranked in the upper 20's to low 30's. DC is a top 10 market. When you combine the 2 its about the same size market as combining Tampa and Orlando. There aren't a lot of great places to visiit in Maryland, but Annapolis is the exception. Its beautiful. I would love to take a road trip up there with the Bulls. It would give me an excuse to visit friends and family and I just love Annapolis.
  7. This is all kind of stupid. Basically what could happen and seems likely at this point, is that the Big East is going to be the ACC and Conf. USA is going to be the Big East. We just have to hope that we end up in the new ACC and that at least a few marquee programs are around when we get there. But...we have to hope that at least FSU if not FSU and Miami are both gone in order for us to get an invite. Crazy times.
  8. So Syracuse and Rutgers, possibly UConn are of the "Big time" football school status?? So Syracuse and Rutgers, possibly UConn are of the "Big time" football school status?? Don't forget other football powerhouses like Utah, Colorado, Missouri, and Maryland that were sucked up by "bigger" conferences in the last 2 years.
  9. Looks like USF has let the ACC know that we want in too. http://www.accsports.com/blogs/david-glenn/2012112714123/acc-will-vote-on-expansion-wednesday-morning.php
  10. I have always said I would never give up my seats would at least give at a Green Jacket level annually as long as it was not a financial burden. If they fire Skip right after the Pitt game (within 48-72) hours, then I will definitely renew. If it looks like Doug is going to bury his head in the sand and let this clown drive our program further into the ground, then I will have to make a decision for the first time since becoming a season ticket holder. Since Doug refuses to answer emails and hides from the public, our only way to voice our displeasure is by not giving the program money. However, if we want the program to get where we need to be, we need to be expanding our donor pool and season ticket base. Not drying it up. Especially with all this conference realignment mess going on. Having a tiny season ticket base and an empty stadium is only going to hinder us getting a life line to a better conference. Its a real catch 22. We all just have to hope that Greg's sources are wrong and that Skip will be fired. Otherwise, I am torn as to what to do.
  11. The Big 12 has schools located in some impossible to get to places. Road trip to Manhattan, Kansas anyone? Beggers can't be choosers, if I had a choice with all things being equal, I would rather stay in a conf. that is BE/ACC mix assuming at least some decent schools remain. I am just ready for all this mess to be over with. Lets find out where we are going to end up and move on.
  12. If these rumors are true, then by my count we are the only one of the 8 Big East football schools from last year to have not been thrown a life line. That is how far we have fallen. We are the fat, goofy kid in gym class that no one wants on their team. Its amazing to me. Big TV market, fertile recruiting ground, our football team has been ranked as high as #2 in the BCS over the past 5 years, etc. Has Skip Holtz changed the perception of our program that fast in 3 years?
  13. Ryan Pence †@ pencerm I'm hearing the # Bearcats to the ACC is a done deal. Maybe even to the point of a signed agreement. Working to confirm. This guy is the 247 sports Cincy publisher. This would be the equivalent of Josh Newberg or Larry Weisbaum tweeting something like this.
  14. If the Big East schools are so undesireable...why are we always being poached? Cuse, Pitt, and Rutgers most recently.
  15. http://ajerseyguy.com/?p=3756 Conference call is scheduled for Monday with ACC presidents. Looks like they may wan to add 3 schools to get back to 16. UConn and Louisville are sure bets and the last spot appears to be between Cincy and USF....
  16. If this is true, our focus needs to move on to firing the administrators. Judy, Doug, and Bill. All 3 are clearly incompetent or have some sort of personal agenda that is tied to this clown. Whatever it is, it is not in the best interest of our university and especially our football program to allow this guy to drive our program further into the ground. I have always said I will never stop my donations to USF athletics, this has given me pause. We are watching administrators. its Skip or its you. You decide.
  17. i agree with this 100%. UCF and USF as a pair are even stronger IMO.
  18. Exactly. The ACC took Syracuse and Pitt from the Big East...hardly football powerhouses. The Big 10 is taking Maryland and Rutgers....Maryland is an awful football program and Rutgers has gotten competetive since Schiano took over, but they are one of the worst programs in the history of college football. It seems like academic prestige is really weighed heavily in these moves.
  19. This is the most frustrating thing I have ever seen in sports. Outside of the SEC, these new so called power 5 conferences are basically 2 or 3 elite or very good programs that are mixed in with some just plain awful programs. The ACC for instance has Duke, Wake, Maryland, VA, NC State, BC, soon to be Syracuse, etc. etc. etc. and these schools are in the "power 5". PAC12 has Utah, Colorado, Washington State, Oregon State, etc.. It is beyond frustrating. Somehow a program like ours that has loads of potential and has proven in the past we can beat anybody is going to be left out. We are the 9th largest school in the nation and are located in the heart of the heaviest recruited state in the nation. The Big12 has a ton of TX schools that are 2nd fiddle to UT. How do schools like USF and UCF get left out? Heck UCF is the 2nd largest school in the nation and they are left out? I can't stand UCF, if you take your fandom out of it and think about it for a second...it makes no sense. The 2nd and 9th largest schools in the country are left out and Duke and Baylor are in. Makes sense...
  20. Mike Aresco said in an interview he did back when he was visiting Boise St. for a game a few weeks ago that he hoped to have them announced by mid November so that they could start working on the schedule. I believe he said the schedule would be released in January and probably would be worked out with whoever got the TV contract.
  21. I thought the lower bowl was sold out to season ticket holders and the 2nd level was 2/3 sold out to season ticket holders. How can't it sell out? There can't be that many tickets available for any game this year if those #'s are correct and this is the season opener, new Dome, UCF, etc. I would be shocked if its not sold out. If its not, then they are lying to us about the season ticket sales.
  22. There is actually an exhibition game on 11/5 vs Eckerd that is included in your season ticket package. I didn't realize that until they came in the mail yesterday.
  23. Boy, the good news just keeps on coming. As soon as it looked like we were going to come out of all of this OK...the Big East gets kicked in the nuts again. Its so ridiculous. Doesn't matter what we do on the field. Meanwhile power houses like Duke, Northwestern, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Washington State, Colorado, etc. are in the "Power Conferences" and the Big East schools are not. Unbelievable.
  24. By the way, I just noticed that I spelled his last name wrong in the title of the thread. It should be spelled Taggart. I can't see an option to edit the post or title. Can a mod correct that for me?
  25. Wanna see what kind of recruiting pull Willie Taggart has in SW Florida? Look at this kid's offer list...http://rivals.yahoo.com/wku/football/recruiting/player-Joe-Fennell-120165 He has offers from everyone in the southeast, and all 4 BCS state schools (USF, UF, Miami, FSU) and he committed to Western Kentucky in August. Imagine what Willie T could recruit like in his own backyard.
