  1. I was thinking the Suncoast to US-19, through Tally, west on I-10 and then up 231... Atlanta sucks to drive through no matter what the time of day... Everything through that route up to US 231 is a pretty decent drive. I just don't know how bad Bama is going through the gut. When is everyone driving up planning on hitting the road? Early the day before? What about driving up the night before the game, ie leave at midnight on the 23rd, get to Birmingham 2-3 hours before the game? This pretty much limits you to the I-75 to I-20 routes as most small town gas stations close at night, but the Interstate ones are usually 24 hours. We avoided most of the traffic last year by leaving Tampa at midnight. We saw a total of 3 state troopers and 1 drunk driver (in South Carolina at 5:30ish AM) the whole trip up. Not too bad if you get plenty of sleep the day before...
  2. Why the love for the SEC? They are down this year, with the lucky (esp with the bad ref calls) Gators backing into a championship. I think Louisville should go over the Gators.
  3. 1. Be honest here (your spouse is not reading this) as the holidays approach what are you looking forward to the most? Christmas vacation, fresh New Year, or Bull's Road Trip to Bowl Bulls Bowl Road Trip!!! 2. If you could sit down with a stud RB recruit right now how would you sell them on USF? BCS Conference... legit chance at a National Title in 1-4 years... and just look at the national weather report! 3. Of all the BCS bowls which would you like our Bulls to attend in the future? Why? The Orange Bowl. Shortest drive by far! 4. If hollywood makes a movie about our Bulls who would they have play the Jimbo? Sean Connery 20 years ago. 5. If Andre were still a Bull this year what bowl would we be going to this year? If My Aunt had balls, would she be my uncle? I don't like to think about "if" questions.
  4. In a perfect world: The NCAA needs to institute a playoff system between the BCS bowl winners. The BCS bowl games should then ONLY invite BCS conference champions, (maybe an at-large spot or two to the non-BCS conference champs). With this they would stop kissing ND's butt! Not in a conference, no chance at the national championship or BCS bowl period! If they did this, there would be NO arguement about which circular reference in a computer program should be tweaked to "calculate" who gets into the National Championship Game. The computer and people polls are just what they sound like... polls. Polls are based on opinions and assumptions. Just because 90% of people polled say the sky is green...
  5. Is it true that if you look in a mirror and chant "Biggie Smalls" three times he appears and shoots you?
  6. How so?  Because he gets to see Mickey Mouse whenever he wants to?  I wouldn't give two cents to live in Orlando.  Tampa looks pretty nice, but I've never been there.  At least there'd be somewhere for my Mako.  Believe it or not, not everyone wants to live in Florida.  The coastal areas of NC are filling up with what we call "halfbacks" -- snowbirds who retired to Florida, couldn't stand the heat and moved halfway back, looking for a mild climate with seasons. Maybe good for old "halfbacks" but not for High School Half-Backs! Florida is the place to be for high school kids. I'd rather live the rest of my life stuck in Orlando than move anywhere north of I-10!
  7. I think we want Rutgers and Louisville to win... Then RU gets the BE BCS invite and depending on some other games Louisville may get an at-large BCS. UL has the best shot of the three (incl WVa) to get the "at-large" spot, due to rankings.
  8. The chance to build a national powerhouse from scratch... or take millions from an Alabama or a Kansas State or a Miami only to be under the "noose." Leavitt has made it clear on numerous occasions how much potential the USF coaching job has. Sorry, unless 7 million isn't enough money for you, than it doesn't get any much better than coaching at USF. Fertile recruiting area of Florida, Sunny weather, an ever-growing fan base, in a BCS league, in the perfect climate for conditioning, smart school adminstrators that back the team with sound financial decisions. So tell me again, how many loosing seasons will ECU suffer through when Holtz SKIPS town for a real team at a shot at a national championship? Hell, even if O'liary over in Orlando doesn't win another game he still has it better than Holtz.
  9. Hmm, the glory days of the early 90's? And how many coaches have ya'll gone through since? If Skippy makes some coaching miracles happen up at ECU just how long will he stay? With his name recognition, I guarantee he won't last long at a sub par non-BCS school.
  10. Boy the stereotyping comes out.  Hey at least when I walk on campus I feel safe unlike the worlds most dangerous campus USF. You want that CUSA dump over in Orlando for that distinction... Face it, ECU is a sub-par team in a dead conference.
  11. thound like hith Dad when he talkth? Seriously, who decided it would be a good idea to put Lou in a commentator job on ESPN? Did someone loose a bet?
  12. Time to bring back the "PURPLE PU$$IES" chant again! How `bout it _Eat'sIt?
  13. Nobody with half a brain would take the Bama job... the impatience with head coaches there is stunning.
  14. Have a great time here at the Outback bowl if you're coming!
  15. Anyone know what traffic is like up through the center of Alabama? Does that US 231 have bad traffic? Lots of stop lights? State Troopers?
  16. Driving up the day before, driving back after the game! GO BULLS!!!
  17. It may be cheaper (at least I've found so far) to fly into / out of Atlanta and rent a car. Birmingham is 2 hour drive from Atlanta.
  18. McMurphy is a big piece of Bull poo! He's still miffed that the St. Pete Times is our sponsor. The Trib needs to pony up and fire his ass... he's still trying to stir up the pot with made-up garbage. Way to go Brett.
  19. Offensive balance, minus the needless trickeration. Can we say I formation? Run Ricky Run! and then run some more... the passing game will open, only if the other team isn't keying off on Grothe every snap. The offensive line needs to take out some aggression and pound that ball! Going forward and putting your helmet on someone feels a lot better than having to fall back every play only to watch 6-7 guys blitz to your 5 protectors (thank you spread offense > )
  20. Have patience. It will take Coach Mcullum time to build his program after gutting out the rot left by Seth (used car salesman) Greenberg. I thought they played tough all year last year, but it just seemed to come down to depth (or lack therof). This may be an interesting season... on the downside, you won't be facing any tougher competetion in college hoops than the Big East.
