  1. Leavitt definietly set the precedence today, no matter how talented you are, you have to follow the rules to be a BULL. If this kid wants a shot, I say go ahead, I'm not worried about CJL putting up with ANYTHING from these kids.
  2. This hurts no matter what. This kid has Simeon Rice like potential. I won't speculate on what got him kicked off, but you know he was walking a thin line after sitting half of last season. On the silver lining (if there is one) it's better to happen now than during the summer. That and we know that Leavitt has a threshold he will not tolerate people crossing. The same cannot be said for many other BCS schools (esp the one in Tallahassee).
  3. This hurts. Not only the team this season, but potential for the future. Isn't there another Julmiste brother looking at USF in a year or two? I sure wish Josh had the same determination that Pat showed.
  4. If he busts his ass like I'm sure CJL will make him do, then I say WELCOME ABOARD! If he screws off around here then adios!
  5. Another "if" question... "If" my aunt had balls would she be my uncle? I hate "if" questions.
  6. I'll be surprised if the UM game in a couple of years doesn't break the 50K mark. Easy equation: Bring in big names + keep winning = good attendance. No one outside either alumni base wants to see us play UCF, but bring in UF or FSU and we would have our first sellout. I guarantee people that have no connection whatsoever to USF will come to support the home team against a foe like that. Does Auburn come to Tampa in a couple of years? That should be a big draw.
  7. Cincinnatti beat us on gameplan alone. Their defense was ready for everything we threw at them. Kansas was arguably the same as we just couldn't seem to get on track offensively.
  8. If I remember correctly, the reports said his mother is battling cancer.
  9. I can see the signs at games allready: FEAR THE BIG MAC ATTACK!!!
  10. I dumped that rag last year. Brett McDillhole sealed that deal. I don't even visit their website anymore. ST. PETE TIMES BABY YEAH!!! ;D
  11. Leavitt and staff did an awesome job getting highly skilled players to fill the positions the team needs.
  12. Time to wave the ******** flag! So we shouldn't pay attention to the position players that we need and we should go after kids only being recruited by FSU/UF/UM? Are you kidding me? The ratings are absolutely BS and based mostly on the college name the kid is signing with. I guarantee you even half of ucf's class this year could compete for a starting position at any of the BCS schools in the state of Florida.
  13. Let's see here; beefy O-linemen, great speedy blocking fullback, big tight end, a couple of really fast halfbacks... does anyone see a posible trend here? Gentlemen, we have a running game.
  14. I didn't think we had, but I'm probably wrong. Dunnellon absolutely sucked for about 20 years or so and has recently (in the last 5-10 years) been on a huge up-swing. This was due to a very large expansion of the school that about quadrupled enrollment. There are so many Gator fans up there (most of whom don't have ANY affiliation with UF) it's hard to spit without hitting orange and blue. This would be a great area for USF to start tapping into as we'd for sure snatch some of those kids right out from under Gainseville's nose. Typically Citrus and Marion counties have had 1-2 strong teams each season, but it has been like a pendulum it's been either one or the other. Vanguard High was the biggie back in the day when I was in school. Cirtus High in Crystal River was always a tough one too back then.
  15. Rivals on Yahoo link WOW I'd love to see this kid become the first from Dunnellon to become a Bull!!! They've had some good teams up there the last 2-3 seasons. Come on Lerentee!
  16. I'd take any of our 2-3 star rated Floridians over any of their 4-5 star kids from Pennsyl-tucky any day. Recruiting rankings are absolute garbage. High school football in this state and Texas are head and shoulders above the other 48 in every category.
  17. Great Class! Huge upgrade in coaching staff! GO BULLS!
  18. Ruger, You can't say that he knew one way or another unless you witnessed this kid smoking in front of Carlton. I tried out for a collegiate combat pistol team at my first college (USAFA) and was partnered up with a (now convicted) murderer. We both handled loaded guns, shot and talked all day... he seemed like an upstanding citizen and a level-headed guy. I didn't know he had killed a girl with a handgun until he was on the front page of the newspaper two days later. Was that bad judgement on my part? The point is you cannot hold someone responsible for the actions of another, unless that person has knowledge of the crime. I argue it was just as likely Carlton didn't know what this kid had and the cops went ahead and arrested him anyway. Would the cops have arrested Carlton if he were white or maybe if he had a better understanding of his civil rights and put up more of an arguement? WHO KNOWS? It's an "if" question, but if he were really up to no good, they would have prosecuted him too. Do you really trust the judgement of a police force that arrested a kid based on a violation of a bad policy that wasn't really applicable as the original criminal charges were dropped? This was the result of a bad system just as much as it was Carlton's "bad judgement". I'm saying give the kid a break allready. He's worked hard at Community College for a second chance... that shows he's got more character than a lot of kids. Let's not just throw him under the opinion bus.
  19. Well what about actually investigating the actions behind that arrest? Before you throw out wild speculation in order to discredit the kid for something that is your personal beliefs, stop and check reality here. You are verbally convicting this kid of things he was never arrested for, let alone criminally prosecuted for. He was arrested for possesion for being in a dorm room with another kid that was actually in posession. No charge of posession was ever pursued, meaning (A.) The cops made a mistake in arresting him along with the offender and there was no evidence linking him to actual posession, or (B.) He figured out how to get the police to bend the law and not press charges. Considering the fact he was re-arrested for trespassing on an arrest that was originally dismissed (a mistake resulting from unarguably a bad campus police procedure) it leads me to believe that choice "A" (the cops ****** up in the first place) is the more logical of explanations. He was not arrested nor charged with using, as you keep claiming.
  20. Ha that ****'s hilarious. You really think he's the only player to put on a Bulls uniform whose ever smoked a little weed? If so, you're pretty ******* naive. I never said that he was the only one. I know that others probably have. I look down on them for that, but until it comes out who exactly I can't judge. The fact is that C4 is now in trouble again. Why should we be giving these guys a break? What message does it send? "It's ok to smoke pot and break the law, as long as you play football". You think John Doe would get any second chances or have the charges dropped? No. It would help if you got your facts straight... He wasn't arrested for using, he was arrested for posession (none was found on him) while in a room with another kid that was actually in posession. The charges had been dropped since because there was no evidence he was in posession or had used it. Last I checked, being arrested for something is not the same as being convicted of it.
  21. 1. West Virginia will be tough... early season games tend to favor the defenses, will the new O-coordinator have everything in tune and humming by game 4 of the season? 2. Rutgers by a landslide... the quick turn-around after the UCF game (which will be an emotionally-stocked game). 3. Syracuse. They have been climbing steadily out of the conference cellar and this game is sandwiched between home games with Cincinnati and Louisville (both of whom beat us last season). The Syracuse game just SCREAMS "look ahead". 4. FAU or UCF? Tough one... For this season I say UCF, but the two teams are closer than many would think. The mouse-towners have a little more speed to burn, coupled with thier absolute hatred of us. Either way, the Bulls will have to learn how to win consistently with a target on their chests.
  22. USF's class is on par with the other "Big 4" Florida teams. Recruiting rankings are absolute BULL (pun intended). It is a name recognition game based on which university is recruiting which athlete... the same 3 star athlete that commits to USF would be given 4 or 5 stars if signing with UF.
  23. Frey and Lane hurt. Dorsey too, but not as much. Rod leaving was a blessing.
  24. USF's class this year is just as good as the ones going to FSU, UM or UF. The rankings are absolute ********, and they even admit to it! Rivals has something like 25 employees (per previous posting on rankings scandal). Just consider how many HS football games are played every friday night in just Florida or Texas! Now how about the whole of the US? The ONLY way they could accurately "rank" these kids is by employing a staff of thousands. It just doesn't add up. They base rankings soley on which schools are interested in what kids. USF doesn't get the same level of respect, while recruiting the same quality players as the other Big 4 Florida schools. That comes down to one thing, name recognition. The Bulls need to keep winning, that will earn the respect we're starting to see.
