Not to get ahead of ourselves here, but I stopped to look at WVU's performance so far this year and cannot say that I am too impressed. The last nine quarters of football they have played have been exceptional. They beat the snot out of two struggling teams in UC and UCONN, as they should. They also played very well in the fourth and OT versus UL. But look at the rest of their season. They lost by 17 to VT @ home. While that loss looked good before the UM/VT game, it does not look as good now. They only beat SU 15-7. It was the first game of the year, but come on...only 8 points over the Orange. They did have two good road wins @ Maryland by 12 and @ Rutgers by 13, but nothing overly impressive. Here might be one of the more telling games....They only beat ECU by 5 points, 20-15. I am not taking anything away from this team, but they really have not gone out and beaten any marquee programs, save the home squeaker against the Cards. Taking a look at their offense and one quickly finds that they are as one demensional as we are, with their two QB's only combining for 1100 yards passing, with 9 TDs and 5 INTs. I see our game with them (irrespective of whether it is for a BCS bid) being a very physical contest. I know it is stating the obvious, but if we protect the ball we should win. If you look at our games so far this year....3 losses=3 lost turnover battles. I guess my longwinded point is....do not fear the Mountain-Queers....they have something to prove by beating US, not the other way around!!!
