  1. I can tell you without bias that the Villanova QB was much better than your TF weenie grothe. With the exception to your WRs, Villanova had a better QB, RB, O-Line, and TEs USF just has a good back 7 on D and some good WRs And UCF has a good....NOTHING! Ask your QB about last years game. Your O-Line is a disgrace, your D-Line is a joke....and your WRs couldn't catch an STD from Pamela Anderson....please spare us the critique of OUR team when yours is a complete joke.
  2. Even over the past week, "names" being thrown out by the Tampa Media on Leavitt include: "King James" Killjoy "Head Grinch" Somethings in the water (remember Leavitt's 27 sec press conference 2 weeks ago?). Considering all of USF's off-the-field problems over the past 2-3 years, multiple-multiple player arrests, having NINE Football recruits not even qualify, etc...if one runs a program like that (especially in FLA), what else would you expect from the media? Someone at USF needs to read a "self-help" book. KL No Knight_Light, the first step is realizing you have a problem. See the little bulls have what they think a good record in IA football (less than .500) by the way. They also have played like 36 IA games versus like a dozed decent teams. They have the BCS tag now so they are in another league right. Well, there are plenty of BCS teams that suck ass too. Boise State isnt BCS and they are a much better program that USF. We will be the same and will have our BCS tag soon enough. Dont forget though, these guys can never see the future or the present for what it is. Dont burst their bubble because all they thought was real may crumble in front of them. I think the Bulls are too young to realize what can happen. The way I see it: They send nobody to the NFL The academics are poor on the team They have discipline problems Their fan base is poor they dont travel well They have no hopes of an OCS to produce Revenue Hey, if that were me, I would be hiding behind my BCS-tag too. We do not need an OCS to produce revenue.....did you forget....BCS. We make more from our conference ties than the erector set crap hole you will be playing in. We will get our OCS when the time is right...Hell it took you 25+ years to get one. As far as our fan base....last I saw we had more season ticket holders than your sorry university, check your facts before you run your mouth....you look stupid!
  3. 35....weak D-Line..... ;D Put down the kool-aid clown.....look at the facts. Our D has given up 10, count 'em 10 points through 2 games. 7 of those points coming after a defensive stop and a 30 yard penalty on a punt return. Get a grip. I'm not saying we are going to slaughter you guys. I think it will be a good game. But if you sniff 35 points in this one, it will NOT be because you scored them against our D, it would be special team blunders and offensive turnovers.
  4. I'm just bustin; your chops and stirring the pot. I highly doubt the same mistakes will be made again. You live and learn. It is just fun to poke the wasps nest a bit, especially when you have no fear of being stung.....
  5. Are you all really serious? Poor conditioning causing ACL tears....seriously? Twisting your knee causes ACL tears. Rupturing your achilles tendon is not a matter of conditioning. It is clear that this program is suffering some incredibly poor luck, but come on guys, its just that, poor luck. Its not Mac, or Seth, or the floor, or any supernatural powers, just poor luck for some good kids. Hopefully we bounce back.
  6. Grothe and Johnson, sprinkle in a little Randolph.....eventually Ponton this year, and Aston Samuels next year.
  7. Doesn't seem funny to me. I only know what of the ticket debaucle I read on this board, but what I do know is that working on a college campus, if you want to reach the bulk of the non-transactional students, outreach to student organizations is the way to go. There's no harm in that. Being an involved student has many privileges through one's college career and beyond. Looks like this was one of them. People who are in organized groups tend to be easy to communicate with.  Thats exactly what happened.  No one is perfect guys... of course SG could have done things different AND better, but SG had never done this before... and we have learned from it.  I only see positive good results to come.  Can't say that SG and others arn't trying to help get people to athletic events! Next on the list is the campus signage policy... so that athletics can put up signage during the week and day of the game (they arn't allowed to right now). I think this is all that anyone is looking for....accountability. Admit you messed up and improve. I think that is fair. This game is not going to change anyone's life, whether they paid $5 for the ticket, $30 for the ticket, or they do not show up. The point is to learn from the mistakes, not defend them, and grow as student body leaders. Kudos to you and your org for conjuring up the idea, and hear is to smoother sailing in the future.....GO BULLS!!!!!
  8. Of course no one complained last night, were we suppose to waste our time that we had already in line about some tickets that we wont get?? Duhhh...I am done with SGA, and props to whoever said they should use U#s for voting as well... I was the one who made the remark about SGA voting, and if you think about it it makes perfect sense, at least within the context of the goals for the ticket sale. You heard them say they were concerned with having as many students at the game as possible. So as many students as possible should vote, and what better way than to allow 1 to caste a vote for 500. And do not go using the old "thats not a fair way to vote" routine, because you weren't worried about it in giving out the tickets. In both instances the focus should be on student participation, so I say fuggit, let one person vote for as many U ID #'s as they can get. And screw checking the ID #'s, we will take everyone's word for it, afterall, why would anyone want to cheat the system?
  9. Here is a copy of my email to Andrew Goodrich: Dear Mr. Goodrich: The Tampa Tribune recently reported that USF is in negotiations with Ball State, Western Kentucky, and Buffalo for possible home and home football series. I am a season ticket holder and recently graduated from law school. I have every intention of not only increasing my donation level to the school every year, but also increasing the number of season tickets I purchase as well. I will be thoroughly disappointed and embarrassed for the University if these deals go through. This would be the type of scheduling blunder that would dissuade me, and many others like me, from increasing our financial support of the program. These are not the type of football games that I want to see the University playing, and I can assure you that I am not alone. While I understand that every matchup cannot be against a "marquee" opponent, these games do not represent the quality, nor the quantity, that the donor base would like to see. If these lower level teams are to be scheduled, the series must be two home games for USF and one road game. I am not certain that you are necessarily the one to speak with regarding this matter, but I would appreciate your help in getting this message to the powers that be, namely Athletic Director Doug Wollard. If this story from the Tampa Tribune is erroneous, I would appreciate a statement to that effect from someone with the authority to speak on the matter. I look forward to receiving a response to this inquiry at your earliest convenience.
  10. exactly.... Now we have more than 1200 bulls going, not less than 500. I see this as a good thing How thick is your skull Sparky? The point is not that 1250 students are now going, that is obviously a good thing. The point is that by putting a cap (8 or 10 per trip through the line) you would have prevented the abuse of the system that obviously occured. YOu still would have sold all of the tickets and people would have been happy. Just try and learn from this mistake so you dolts don't make it again in the future.
  11. I will not confirm or deny that. What I will say is that my tickets will be used I promiss that. That is total Bull Spit if you did that. You SG'ers are all on here lecturing the students who stood in line and did not get tickets for not getting there earlier. That is an absolute abuse of power if you did in fact do that.
  12. Will SG allow one student to vote on behalf of 500 others in future elections so long as they have their U ID #'s????
  13. Frats and Sorts are retarded. They are a bunch of babies who cannot let go of the "good times" they had in high school. They are elitist groups who seek to perpetuate a caste/class system. If you think things are bad, try going to a smaller school like Stetson in DeLand. There something like 40% of the student population is Greek. Incoming freshman were all getting along and socializing together and then rush week came and changed all of that very quickly. If you are down with the BS and the homo-eroticism that occurs with Frats, go for it. Otherwise, try and unite the students at USF and get these groups out of power. They are by far in the minority, but they wield so much power because they are organized and have way too much time on their hands. Time that could be better spent posting worthless drivle on a message board.
  14. Don't be an @ssclown.....I am using hyperbole. Although there are some comparisons that can be made to people not really knowing how to run either program....
  15. I think Spike Lee should do a documentary on the USF/UCF Ticket Debacle... I am thinking "When The Tickets Sold" as a title.
  16. Dude, I was joking. The point of the post was that providing a service in and of itself is not laudable. However, the results they obtained in getting 1250 students to the game is. Things could have gone smoother, but I am just happy that we will have 5,000 USF fans at the game now. It will be just like the MCCB, 35,000 fans getting out cheered by 5,000. From what I understand we bought a few ad's in that rag the Oracle. The Oracle never ran them. Just like FEMA, more finger pointing and a lack of accountability..... ;D
  17. If it is a 3:30 pm start time then it sounds like an ABC regional game. I do not see why we would move the game to 3:30 pm if it isn't going to be broadcast regionally/nationally.
  18. Did you get tickets? If not why? Why did you not get in line earlier on day 2? Maybe the policy was flawed. (I am not saying it was or it wasn't) but we cant change it in the middle of a sale. If you wanted the tickets you would have gotten them. Seriously, you could have changed the policy, but choice not to. Don't make it sound like your hands were tied, because there appeared to be very little policy planning that went in to this. YOu guys failed to change the policy and thats why you are getting the flack. I still applaud the effort and getting the students to the game, but take all of the criticism constructively and make changes in the future, thats all. Its all good, especially when the bulls win on Saturday!
  19. Dude, I was joking. The point of the post was that providing a service in and of itself is not laudable. However, the results they obtained in getting 1250 students to the game is. 20. FEMA provided a service to the people of New Orleans, but they bunged it up. Now I am not saying that SG's efforts were disastrous, far from it, but hopefully you will overcome the hubris that is apparently rampant after your success in selling 1250 tickets and make the obvious and necessary changes to ensure that the issues with this ticket sale do not haunt you again in the future. And regarding changing the rules.....It is one thing to buy tickets for 1,2,3,4,5, or 6 of your friends, but to compare that with an expectation of buying 270 for your friends is a bit absurd. Somewhere between a free-for-all and a 1 student/1 ticket policy would be appropriate. How about 8 or 10.
  21. Getting back on topic.....Thank you students for supporting OUR team and I look forward to cheering our Bulls on to victory with all of you this Saturday!!!
  22. From a completely disinterested outsider's perspective a few mistakes were made: 1. Not capping the amount an individual could buy, even with the U ID #'s of others, the most should have been 10 per person, especially after seeing the demand that existed from the tickets after the first day. And don't hand me the "we can't change the rules in mid-stream garbage." SG had the power to make the rules of engagement on this thing and they dropped the ball. See #2 for what SHOULD have been done concerning the second wave of ticket sales. Also, if not selling all of the tickets were a concern, you allow a student to buy 10 and then go to the end of the line to buy more if any are available. This ensures that everyone has a fair shake and that all of those who want tickets will be able to purchase them. 2. Not taking a list of names and U ID #'s for those that waited the first day and did not get tickets. Talk about unfair, these students were in line a full day before the others and I imagine some were not able to get the tickets. These students should have been given first priority on the second allotment. 3. Allowing student orgs (ie: Greeks) to buy up all of the tickets when those groups could have worked on their own with the athletic department to get highly discounted group rates. The point of an exercise such as this should be to get as many students as possible involved. I am not saying that anyone should have been prevented from purchasing the ticket, but the individual student with no organizational ties was obviously at a disadvantage as far as waiting in line for tickets goes. If you give me 400 people I can guarantee that I can find one in that group who is able/willing to stand in line hours before anyone else to make sure the group gets its tickets. With all that being said, I applaud SG for making sure that our rabid student fans have the opportunity to be at the game. I think it will make the University look good and will only further add to the Bulls fever that is obviously starting to sweep through the campus. You live and learn, and hopefully in the future SG will not repeat their mistakes. It took Ticketmaster years to perfect a method in which they limited ticket sales, but their efforts have, for the most part, been effective. After all this banter is over, remember, we still have a game to win Saturday and we stand united.....GO BULLS!!!!
  23. If the ticket is still available I will take it. I happen to also be in Sect. 106 Row X and want to bring my brother-in-law
  24. The double coverage throws were a product of our inability to run the ball. The defenders were able to drop back and had great coverage on our recievers. I think he made some timely decisions to run the ball. I also liked our 5 wide sets, I thought they were pretty effective. I liked the hurry up too. All in all FIU may be one of the fastest defenses we see all season long. I know some of you are worried about UCF, as am I, but remember, FIU's defense is WAY better. UCF should be somewhere in between FIU and McNeese. Ponton/Williams/Smith/Grothe should be able to run all over UCF and that will open up the passing game for our FRESHMAN QB. Remember this, game on the line, Grothe came through.......... PERIOD.
